Well homo sapiens hasn't been been around long enough to have created buildings that are that old, so the premise behind your question is blithering nonsense.
However there are certainly lots of geological formations that have have been stable for 150,000 years. In geological scale that's an eye blink. For example Canada's Acasta Gneiss is 4 billion years old.
There are lots of practical ways of dealing with radioactive leftovers. The best is probably recycling combined with deep geological placement, something the French are getting along with pretty well.
Yes the marginal tax rate for corporations in the US is the highest in the world.
However actual rate US corporations pay in taxes is nowhere near the highest in the world due to the myriad of tax subsidies, deductions, etc. in the US tax code that are not present in tax codes in other countries.
Our taxes are not high. In fact they are lower right now than they have been any time since 1950.
This is one of the reasons for our high deficit.
Lest we forget 12 years ago the government was actually spending less than it took in. In fact investors were getting worried because the US was not issuing Treasury notes.
Tax increases will have to be part of the package. The fact is that US tax revenues as a percentage of GDP are the lowest they have been since Harry Truman was President.
If we had the same tax rates as Germany there would be no deficit. None. Nada. In fact we would be running a large surplus.
With the demographics the way they are the idea that a balanced budget would be possible at current tax rates is flat out looney.
I have had good like with filing complaints with Attorney Generals. Recently I had Go Daddy refuse to transfer a domain I owned to another provider (die Go Daddy die die die). I complained to the Arizona attorney general and that was enough to get Go Daddy to see it my way.
Composition of matter patents, that is producing something in a new form from two or more ingredients is one of the four original types of patents, going all the way back to the Patent Act of 1790.
Such a composition must posses new properties to be patentable.
It would take some pretty radical changes to patent law to make what Myriad did non-patentable.
Honey bees are not native to the US, so no big deal. Native REAL AMERICAN flowering plants will do just fine. It's those illegal immigrant flowering plants that will disappear.
Many of the conflicts we have been stuck with are the long term outcomes of old colonial empires or desires for modern empires by intransigents.
For example the damn Middle East and ex-Ottoman Empire was partitioned by the British and French in such a way as to guarantee continuous war for the foreseeable future.
Throw in world oil dependence and what happened and is happening is mostly inevitable.
Yes mistakes were made, and will continue I am sure but blaming the US for it is just showing a lack of knowledge of history and economics.
It would be heaven for the US to be energy independent and be able to walk away from this mess.
This is the reason for the civil service system in the first place. While it has it's downsides, without it all government positions would become political appointees.
The GMO debate is completely absent the characteristics:
1. Neutral.
2. Fact Based.
These labels won't tell you whose seed was used. There are several companies that develop GMOs for use in agriculture.
> I'm sorry, but a major government agency can't afford two terabytes of data?
I like it. We need more agencies like this.

Methane leakage is a significant source of greenhouse gases.
It's quite questionable as to whether the switch to natural gas is a significant benefit in terms of global warming for a variety of reasons.

China has a butt load of shale gas and in rapidly acquiring the technology to exploit it.
It will be very interesting to see how this plays out.
Oh poppycock. Fracking is an old (over 100 years) well-proven technology. If it weren't any good we would have known it 50 years ago.

The idea that the US has an unreasonably high corporate taxation structure is complete baloney.
Unfortunately it is an idea that is pushed a lot on conservative opinion outlets.
It's disingenuous at best.

I think it's good advice. Give it a try.

hypnogas used to get people to take off the tinfoil hats.
Watch out next will be the mind ray broadcasters installed in the smart meters.

I am a millionaire and I got there this way.
I don't feel rich. Most of my friends and neighbors have done the same thing.
With the way entitlements programs are going I have no idea if this will be enough to retire on comfortably.
With inflation a million dollars is worth about 3% of what it was in 1920.
So this study is worthless because these days a million dollars is not real wealth.
So we are back to the idea that in capitalism the birth lottery is worth much more than merit.
Next?
The study was also mostly done in vitro on isolated cells. I can't imagine a less realistic scenario.
This crap is laughable.
1. academic team does a couple of hundred in vitro experiments
2. publishes the ones that are significant to 95%.
3. News headlines in lame stream media
4. PROFIT!!! (Grant renewed).
No wonder even landmark cancer studies can't be reproduced.
The Internet happened.
Yeah, with capitalism the birth lottery is often more important than merit.

I would chose countries with lots of natural resources and a good track record of stable government. That's mostly Canada and Australia.
And there are how many libertarians in Congress? Two?
And isn't one of them retiring?
Because Government is unlike any other employer.
This is the reason for the civil service system in the first place. While it has it's downsides, without it all government positions would become political appointees.
When they add three more zeros to that speed. I wanna go to Alpha Centauri.
A natural disaster causes a lot of pollutants to escape. I didn't read the article, but has the cause been narrowed down to anything particular?
Apple's stock would be crushed by a price war - which is inevitable unless they can choke off competition with patent suits.
Ultimately this is all about keeping margins high and emptying the pockets of consumers.
