    Poppycock. Ethyl mercury is not particularly bio-available and it is excreted quite rapidly from the body. The half life is about 10 days.

    Oooh too bad. It turns out that mercury is present naturally in the environment from a number of sources including volcanic emissions, weathering of mercury containing minerals (such as cinnibar) and so on. So guess what, no matter what you do you are going to be exposed to it to some extent. So it is rather useless to try to eliminate it entirely.

    It was 20 years because childhood diseases killed most children before age 5, and women basically had to bear children until they died in childbirth to keep the population up. If you were a male who reached adulthood (and could serve in the army) you had a good chance to live to 60.

    It's quite easy to prove that the CPI and not Shadow Stats is correct; massive studies on price information have been collected via Google Search to form Google's Price Index and similar studies by MIT to form their BillionPrice data. The fact is that the government CPI information is an accurate measure of inflation.

I am sure that you must realize that the primary tenant of the Tea Party is that the Federal Government is too large, and by shrinking it your taxes will be reduced. Well huzzah another large part of that shrinkage will include elimination of much regulation of large corporations.

    Congress passed the AUMF authorizing military force in this matter. Whether or not that is 'war' is a stupid matter of semantics. It is certainly constitutional for the President to act on this basis.

    The AUMF resolution passed by Congress 9/18/2001 clearly authorizes the POTUS to commit such acts.

    There is plenty of good evidence in this case. In time of war (yes war was declared buy Congress) you are allowed to kill enemy combatants without bringing them to trial first.

    It's not fucking silly. That's an attitude towards the issue taken by people who are ignorant or haven't thought about the issue in sufficient detail.

    There are plenty of fucking good reasons for it. Some of these reasons is that in a lot of cases leaked classified information is not known to be true or not. If the information is public there is still a lot of doubt to it's authenticity, some details about it are usually missing, and it may not be correlated with other public but still classified information and so on.

    All of this is why people with security clearances are still required to not discuss classified information even if that information is available to the public. No reason to make things worse.
