These users don't tweek their systems, nor do they call the cable company when they have dropped packets or other issues that could be addressed with a simple service call.

Dr Roy Spencer is a legitimate scientist and also global warming critic. The stuff he publishes is based on real science and real data. Critics of any scientific hypothesis are important as they help refine or disprove the science which ultimately makes the result stronger.

People who try to discredit him by bringing up his views on evolution or his sources of funding are engaging in logical fallacies. The only legitimate arguments are to evaluate his ideas in a scientific context.

Are his ideas popular or mainstream? No they are not. Most climate scientists think there are alternative models and result that refute his work.

Unfortunately the Heartland Institute and similar organizations is use his work for political ends making it appear from time to time on internet fora.

Nixon was doing the same kind of corruption of personal freedoms that is happening right now - except all on his own and clandestinely without the knowledge or consent of Congress, for his own personal power. Enemies lists and using the IRS to harass political opponents. Massive use of the FBI and CIA to track US citizens including war protesters and other dissidents. It was and still is illegal for the CIA to track US citizens.

And all of this was for one purpose - to preserve and extend his personal power.

Whatever you think about the current situation it is not anywhere near the level of having the POTUS actively, vigorously and illegally using the mechanisms of the federal government to suppress political dissent in the US in order to preserve his own position of power.

Yes the internet provides various surveillance opportunities that weren't available at the time of Nixon. But don't kid yourself into thinking Nixon wasn't using the massive cold war intelligence apparatus of the time to gather information outside the US and covert operations to corrupt and overthrow governments he didn't like. He was, and in spades. Look up Project FUBELT if you don't believe me.

The current budget stuff is pretty sickening, but really is a throwback to earlier times in the republic when politics was pretty disgusting as a normal way of life. It isn't the same level of insanity as having a completely deranged President.

I have a larger system with Theta monoblocks and Revel Studios that cost me about $20000 as well. When I use that one it is like having the performers giving me a private concert in my living room. For movie playback, no theater I have visited can match it.

If this is their real position why are they creating another bill?

The fact of the matter is that CCB is Congressional Theater created to placate a certain segment of the Republican Party. It is a farcical completely unworkable bill dependent on the ratification of a constitutional amendment which would a long, drawn-out and ultimately a risky process that could set the US back years in the management of its budget issues if it fails.

As far as Obama changing terms, that happens all the time during negotiations. Both sides have changed terms multiple times. It's a give and take process. I am sure you'd realize this if you though about it. When it does change as a responsible representative like Boehner is supposed to be able to handle it.
