The biggest advantage any android tablet has right now, for a non-geek consumer, is the price: Will the ipad mini cost 200$? Considering the iphone still costs about 600 to 700$ and the ipad 2 still goes for 400$, i don't see apple bothering to release a 200-300$ tablet any time soon.
As such, those that cannot afford a 400$ tablet, would head to amazon, barnes&noble and google.
Just to be sure i understand:
"...the PC market (...) turned to a price war in order to keep sales buoyant.Historically, when a race to the bottom is dictated by the market, it's more a sign of a lack of a market in general."
So i guess the PC, televisions, cars and cellphones whose prices have become a fraction of what they were at their infancy are all examples of a lack of a market?
Weird, i always thought enlarging your pool of customers would point to a growing market. A maturing market if you prefer.
I'm curious if the buyer was a technology enthousiast, Apple lover or simply someone making a future investment? With all the craze for Jobs, it feels like such an item would probably rise in value in the future.
Though this seems very nice, and of course impressive at first, i have to wonder how good it will work with just one hand. Seems kinda difficult to imagine. I'm more impressed by the fact that we're seeing flexible screens closer to market
...In their 2011Mac Minis . With app stores pushed to the consumers, Optical Drives seems to fade away. Even Microsoft is supporting natively the.iso files in win8, another nod to a system with no optical drive.
Indignation? Anger? Really? For managing to obtain one of the best kept secrets in the cellphone bussines because some Apple employe left it at a bar? I think not. After the way Apple handled the whole affair, using every legal trick in their arsenal which led in,among other things the raiding of a gizmodo writer, i think all the bad feelings were pointed at them. They just didn't have a solid case on them.

Actually Linux doesn't really sell. It's free. Look it up, it's pretty cool

Do you mean Apple, Jobs or home computer items? The way i see it, the value of each category is radically different.

That's just about after i settle my mortages
"As that seems very unlikely to be true" since when has quantum mechanics bother with what we find likely?

...hope they applied for some, before Apple gets a hold on them
