You know of an IQ Test that can measure corruptibility? I don't think the problem with our elected officials is generally a lack of intelligence; it's a lack of character and responsibility to their actual electorate, rather than the highest bidder.
I can't figure out how it isn't basically Facebook messaging. They have tried pushing that down users' throats, perhaps if they let users message each service back and forth they can slowly wean any stragglers who use only WhatsApp back onto facebook.
But like you said... those users will likely have jumped ship anyway by the time that happens. What was that one picture site that everybody used before Instagram? Exactly.
I still don't get it though. I just can't shake the feeling that the sphere of users of WhatsApp probably intersect heavily with the sphere of users of Facebook. I don't know anyone, personally, who uses WhatsApp - but I can't imagine with as pervasive Facebook is, they've already got them as members.
Get the fuck out of here with that. $60k for brain surgeon vs. $15k for the most replaceable of employees? The type of stress, the training, the degree of skill that it requires to become those positions? Settle down. I would venture to say that at today's minimum wage, astronauts, brain surgeons, and the President of the United States are all getting paid a reasonable amount. This article is about the uber-elite; not sure why you're trying to make an enemy out of upper-middle-class careers.
Wrong. I looked into the problem, saw it was more than unfix-able for the next 10-20 years.
Started a job search for opportunities in the EU. Found one. Moving in 2 months. Helps I'm a dual citizen by birth, but that wasn't necessary in the long run. I'm not betting on this place getting worse before it gets better.
With the way America is educating its youth - lack of reason, dearth of Math skills and farcical mythical conversations taking place in science class - would you wager on it being fixable any time soon?
I know I'm feeding a troll, but that's a really great argument. Justifying the backbreaking expense of keeping oneself alive against the cost of fuel in two countries. I suppose if you consider the far more efficient vehicles, the vastly reduced amount of driving required, and the great public transport alternatives the argument kind of doesn't seem as brilliant. But I'm just splitting hairs I suppose.
... there has been less snow and snow every year. It's big fucking news that we're getting snow that was considered normal winter activity merely 15-20 years ago. You're cute though.
To be fair... those figures are mostly over 20 years old. We've had two booms and three busts since then. Care to venture who still largely occupies the top echelon?
...source? Because I haven't seen numbers to suggest that's true, the only similar studies I've seen are that the top 1% of the 1% remain pretty much rigidly fixed in their spots.
Positive comment? How about this. Who gives a shit. You don't like it, then fucking stop browsing; a handful of upset assholes posting comments on every fucking story isn't going to change the plans of a site with a daily readership likely in the hundreds of thousands. You fucking cocky fuck. Just shut the fuck up.
Something positive would be you whiney cunts leaving. Fuuuuuck you!
How do you just write off 6% of total green house gas emissions? It's the equivalent of 450 megatons of CO2... more than every one but the top 11 national CO2 producers. Let's negate ALL of Italy's CO2 production by closing a few leaks? Yeah. Not mind-boggling but stop trivializing it. It's a big fucking number.
You're naive and, frankly, stupid if you were to actually believe that the politicians' power weren't to crumble without the banking elites' money. The politicians surely have the power; but luckily they're replaceable in 2 to 6 year cycles. They know who pulls their strings.

Oh the wolf-PAC. That's so sweet. It's almost like state representatives aren't under the thumb of big business donations.
Complete bollocks. Americans get 0 weeks of vacation, French have mandated 6. There's your difference, ignoring the differences in hours per week.
Also take into account the fact that the US Per Capita GDP is extremely bloated; median income is near equal.
So did Amazon take your lunch money too, or just your milk money?
How the fuck is this modded up? Fuck you Beta trolls
You're a Chinese nerf herder.
You know you're too stupid to even be a racist?

.... and then change your sig from "I automatically downmod all posts which begin in the subject line and finish in the body?"
... didn't you just begin a sentence on the subject line and finish it in the body?

That's the most blatant form of Karma whoring I've ever seen; combine that with a 3 digit user ID and I am officially appalled.
Oh yea, if they need more money they can either trade a little power or even just take it. "Naive".
You're assuming most of them have any left to sell. They were in their masters' pockets by the time before being nominated for a spot on the ballot.
A lot of the politicians with power aren't elected.
Oh. They must clearly beyond money's sphere of influence!
YEAH I TOTALLY BELIEVE THAT.

All I asked for were sharks with freaking laser beams attached to their heads!
They are mutated sea bass.
Are they ill-tempered?
Very.
I never understood why California didn't exercise as much, if not more, power?
