    Murder is murder, I'm really a lot less interested in why than what he did. The concept of "hate crimes" is a completely broken one, but at least the guy is getting prosecuted. Hope there is a fair trial and justice is served.

    This is written up as if it's a great thing but in reality this is a symptom of the problematic non-load tracking nature of wind and solar. Adding more storage is a bandaid. Bandages tend to work, but the underlying issue remains.

    I'm pretty sure "most of the USA west coast" is more than 1%, but yeah, if you're outside the developed western nations that would be true, however one would also probably enjoy a low cost of living that would make the 'six figures' thing meaningless.

    ..... I think the original Alien movie makes a great example. But the whole movie wasn't about a bad ass woman going to town, it was about a normal woman going to town. The power of two "mother" figures out to protect their "young". ....

    The electoral college is supposed to give the states a voice and make the election more than a mere popularity contest; do they not teach civics at all any more? Each congressional district gets an elector, or to look at it another way, the total of electors for a state is the number of senators plus the number of house reps. It's the same reason we have a bicameral system of legislation with one house having a representation of the populace and the other giving all states an equal voice.

    They have to be cheap, light, able to take a charge very quickly, and have high energy density. Still a few issues to be solved. Bonus points if they're not made of materials that are horribly toxic.

    For me 340 miles is inadequate, but yeah once electric can match or surpass the performance of my ICE vehicle for similar or lower TCO I'm in.
