This is like wanting directions to NYC/Manhattan* but only searching for "New York" and both you and your navigation app aren't smart enough to make the more common suggestion, and you end up driving to a point just outside of Adirondack Park upstate (i.e., near the center of the state of New York).

Its anti-depressant and anti-anxiety effects should definitely not be discounted, especially with the lack of serious side effects compared to more traditional medications intended to treat those conditions. I'm not saying people under the influence of MJ should be allowed to drive any more than those under the influence of alcohol or any other drug, but you shouldn't be so quick to judge other peoples' situations. She and I would love nothing more than to never have to buy more of it just for her to lead a normal life.
In 4th or 5th grade (~1992) we as a class learned Logo (the turtle!). As a high school freshman I was in a typing class to learn the classical/proper techniques of typing. As a high school senior (1999) we had a "Computer Science" elective which was essentially a class for learning HTML and simple JavaScript, with some very broad strokes about networks, client/server, and how a web page shows up on your computer. That was one of the best classes I took and the reason I'm doing development today. We also had a couple of one-time sessions about how to use the computers to do research and find journals or books in the library. Nothing else was taught before college as I recall, including (surprisingly in retrospect) how to use word processing and spreadsheets.
Oh, and keep a set of working clothes at the office just in case you have to do some work on a day you need to dress up.
This. My day could consist of meeting with a fortune 100 CEO to talk about proposals and payment terms in the morning and installing a projector in a soffit that afternoon. I keep a suit, business casual outfit and construction site clothes at work just in case I get any surprises in the morning or spill gravy on my crotch at lunch. Starz HD was such a compressed, blocky banded mess that at first I thought something was wrong with my cable signal. Starz via Netflix looked great.

I use them for all the standard boxed groceries and meat that I order every week, and hit the local bodega/grocery for most produce or one-off snacks. This is true. I work for a company that sells and installs luxury residential electronics. Any Sales 101 that is actually effective would have you first identify any problems that your potential customer is having. If you have a product or service that can help them out, then you can identify why your product or service solves their particular problem better than other products or services they may be familiar with. Some clients are perfectly willing to hand over a bucket with $30K in it for a Kaleidescape movie server system or a Lexicon audio processor, and I have actively discouraged them from doing so because it doesn't actually help them. I would much rather put that money towards something that they actually need/want because it encourages FUTURE sales and a trusting relationship.
That's why I've never really understood the "cold call." It sounds cliche but a good sales guy is more of an adviser than a pusher. If you have no interest in my advice, then that's great I don't have to waste any more of our time.

I refuse on principle to pay any extra VOD fees to my cable provider and will *always* opt for Vudu if it's not available on Netflix. If you want to vote with your dollars I think step 1 is to not support cable more than necessary.

At my company we don't do anything particularly noble, just fun (high-end residential audio/video integration), but whenever a number of us go to a convention or training, boss-man insists that we travel separately (1-2 per flight). It seemed a little self-important considering the field we're in, but if we lost half of our engineering or installation or management staff to a plane crash or similar, that would be extremely tough to recover from.
