In theory, Google's copy of jQuery is great for sharing the cache. In practice, I've found that if it isn't cached, Google's copy of jQuery causes a shocking amount of latency, often taking well over 500ms to begin downloading.
I've never used photoshop so I can't comment on it's features. That being said, GIMP is good enough for what I do. The GIMP will continue to be popular as long as Photoshop remains excessively expensive. Even if Photoshop were released as Open Source, GIMP would be around for quite some time thanks to the community that has grown up around it.
Note that it says the vendors are providing engineers at $18 an hour, not that they are paying the engineers $18/hr. Here in the US, a software engineer may only make $30-$40 an hour, but the contractor is probably charging the customer upwards of $1000/hr for that engineer's time.
I'll bite. GIF only supports 256 colors, which makes it useless for digital cameras. The only reason JPG is used as the standard compressed format is file size. No matter how high the quality is set, jpeg is still a lossy format and as such will product smaller files than a lossless format such as PNG.
I couldn't agree with you more, however, the US seems to suffer from a major case of Not Invented Here Syndrome. At one point in time, the Alaskan legislature appropriated funds to purchase two Canadair fire bombers, and the state's top fire fighting official wouldn't let the purchase go through, claiming they would do no good in Alaska. Some progress is being made, Hawkins and Powers, one of the major contractors is in negotiations to buy several of the Russian Be-200's. The problem is, the US Forest Service has stated they won't contract Be-200's because they don't have a US Type Certificate. Oh, BTW, I'm from Minnesota, one of the two states that has realized the value of a purpose-built fire bomber(North Carolina being the other has a single Canadair CL-215), we have 2 Canadair CL-215's protecting our property and forests.
None. After all Wine Is Not an Emulator, it is an alternate implementation of the Windows API that happens to also come with a loader to execute Windows binaries
I doubt it. He sold the T-33 to buy the F-86, and later Sold to F-86 to Apollo 8 commander Frank Borman. Last I knew Mr. Dorn was flying a North American T-39 Sabreliner
Typically such an aircraft would be registered Experimental/Exhibition and the allowed uses are for exhibition(airshows) and proficiency flights. Any flight not for an airshow is considered a proficiency flight.
According to M$ an IPR Imparing License is any license which requires in any instance that other software distributed with software subject to such license (a) be disclosed and distributed in source code form; (b) be licensed for purposes of making derivative works; or (c) be redistributable at no charge.
Acording to their own definition even the GPL is NOT an IPR Imparing License. Section 2 of the GPL says: In addition, mere aggregation of another work not based on the Program with the Program (or with a work based on the Program) on a volume of a storage or distribution medium does not bring the other work under the scope of this License.
Neither the GPL or any other OSS license places such restrictions on redistribution to fall under M$'s definition of an IPR Imparing License
Xlink85 can be used with limited success with a TI-86. It shouldn't be too hard to write a package for the 86, the Graphlink uses the standard serial interface, and the data format needed is well documented. I started a project for the TI-86, but had to put it aside due to lack of time.
I would think that you should just be able to set a Linux box that supports IP Masquerading as the Mac's gateway in the TCP/IP Control Panel. I'm just making a guess here, thought, because I don't have any Macs.
In "3001: The Final Odyssey", ACC states that the entire memories of the average man can be stored in about 10^15 bytes, or about 909.5 terabytes. Though, in the afterword, it states that Dr. Chris Winter belives the number to be 10^13 bytes, or about 9.1 terabytes.
The media is getting pretty redicules, the mp3 format is going to be around for quite some time, judging by the popularity it has gained. Sure it has some problems, like copyrights, but it's the format of choice for many users.

Best Buy, Office Max, and Target are some of their larger customers that come to mind
If you need x86 for flash, why does the Nokia n810(TI OMAP 2420, an ARM11 SoC) have support for flash?
Don't say The Gimp -- it can't edit RAW images.
This is not strictly true, there are a few plugins available for RAW image support.
UFRaw
There is also a basic plugin available from the author of dcraw.
The landing gear on the Cirrus is actually part of the system, it is designed to provide some cushion to the impact and then collapse.
I know that at least one of the aircraft was returned to service after the chute had been deployed.

Most crashes involving heavier-than-air aircraft kill everyone aboard.
Actually if you look at the accident reports most crashes of heaver-than-air aircraft kill none onboard

You might still be able to find a Canon F-700. It's not solar powered, but it has the features you are looking for, and it's quite small.
Seagate in Roseville, MN is located on Disc Drive.

The new system seems quite fast so far, except for one thing, the poll. For some reason the poll on the new setup is extremely slow.

Sorry about that, I missed the part about the serial ports.

I think this may be good for Linux, with UDI support, we'll probably get more vendors willing to supply drivers for Linux.
I always kinda liked the GPL, but I'm just a hoybyist, not a professional.
