  2. Re:Comprehension, M'FR, Do You Read It ?!? on AI Beats Humans at Reading Comprehension (bloomberg.com) · · Score: 1

Most cases of poor reading comprehension that I encounter would better be described as sloppy reading. If people took their head out of their own arses while reading, they'd understand perfectly.

I'm not getting this. People keep saying you need a monster plane to get you across the Atlantic. Planes like the Comet 4, the 707, and the DC-8 were flying across the pond already in the late fifties and they are anything but huge. What point am I missing?

  5. Re:China / India demand that didn't materialize on Airbus A380, Once the Future of Aviation, May Cease Production (nytimes.com) · · Score: 1

The best flight I ever had was from Bombay to Paris on a 747. It was supposed to be Air India but for some reason the plane was Air France.
It's literally the only time I've ever been able to sleep on a plane. It's the only time I've ever had any room on a plane. Me and the 50 or so others.
I'm all for big planes if I can replicate those flight conditions.

I'd say they modernized blues rather than building on it. For me, the guys who really broke the mould were underground(US)/progressive(UK) groups like The Doors or King Crimson. That has absolutely nothing to do with pop of course.

And as with all the other decades they will remember the 2010s for its decent songs and artists. But the generalization will remain true, like it does for the 1990s, which is the most despised decade among people I know but still managed to produced some real gems.
That's the kind of song people will remember from the 2010s once the dross has faded into oblivion.

Angry instead of sad (I'll fucking duff you if you touch my shoes).
Much more complex (addition of 4-bar intros: One two three o'clock...).
    More chords (major 8ths).
Less first person (You ain't nothing but a hound dog).
    Faster. Well yes, that too.

In a family that earns just enough to live comfortably, the wife might stay at home and bring up the kids to release the husband to engage in work that optimizes the family income. It would be a long stretch to say the money the wife spends is a second income.

Yes there's obviously a difference between that and filthy rich, but there must be a transition point somewhere.
