Up until last week I had at ThinkPAD 600 series, and was alway swapping batteries with other people, as their's had stopped working. Luckily it was stolen last week, so I have a nice 'new' desktop to play with.
Its an email client, a newsreader, web-browser, database interface and address book! If they threw away the client and just enabled people to talk to the server with other applications, then they would have a winner!
People should work on a replacement for it an Exchange, so that a choice of clients are available!
> so it predates any Windows UI mandates.
So that makes it OK to look, behave and be totally different from every application? Its UI is almost willfully non-compliant to Windows!
Perhaps I should blame our IT people - I usually do!
Using Notes (as I am now) proves that an application can both be cryptic and hostile, and easy to use. The user interface stands out amongst the rest of Windows applications, 'cos it isn't a Windows application, at least it doesn't look like the design team have read the Windows UI manual. However it does do some nice things, but it still sucks big time as an email client.
I used to have a rio500, and that had nice interface for Linux (and *BSD!), but since last year I have been using a pjb100, a hard-disk based machine, that was originally designed by Compaq. It is bigger than an iPOD, but has a 30 gig (and now 40gig) capacity.
It has an active set of projects for Windows, Linux and OSX, so if I had to recommend you a player, this is the one I would go for.
The Gnome 2 Snapshot channel on Ximian RedCarpet actually tracks the development of Gnome 2, and as such is really Gnome 2.0.1 in development. I use it, its fine for most uses, but some functionality sort of comes and goes!
Being basically powerless to do anything other than observe, I looked at the United Airline website, and they have an updated Press Release that gives the full details of the code-shares and flights etc. No passenger list as yet, as they have not contact the relatives, etc.
Yeah, course it matters. I use it everyday, both a work in W*n2K and at home on Linux. It is much more stable than Netscape 4.whatever. It is also used as part of Nautilus (look out, I've said it now).
IE5 sucks big time, Konquerer I have never used as I don't want both GTK and KDE hogging my disk space, and Opera I have used and hate with a vengance!
So, yes it does matter. Mozilla needs to be done right and well, just done. If it means that I have to wait until Q4 then, thats OK. I've waiting for Word to work correctly for years!
Errm. Why does this always happen on Slashdot? First 5 posts are to do with the original post, the rest descend to this level of social interaction and name calling.
NATS (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Air_Traffic_Services) is 51% in private ownership, and 42% is actually owned by large airlines
Care to give us any examples?
..show known events... From the Bible, which ones are those then?
Where in the GPL does it say that you cannot make a profit?
Our sides cannot take anymore of these hilarious gapes!
> 99% of the world knows Windows.
90% of the world dont have access to computers!

When my friends go married a couple of years ago they had sticks of rock with their names written in it, just like "Blackpool Rock".
This is because Norway is not a member of the EU!

Makes me laugh anyway
They tried to copy the whole iTunes interface, failed miserably and should be thankful to Apple for forcing them to "think differently"
Seriously, if in 500 years time someone looks through my lecture notes, they would have trouble translating them too!
> It has a linux kernel module available (but possibly not maintained)
It is maintained as part of the openpjb SDK, its just not changed very often!

Spiderman and AotC don't suffer from piracy, the suffer from not really being all that good.
Yep, still blocked at 10:36 GMT. However, as I never use this site, I don't feel that I am losing out by M$ petulance!
