Actually png itself isn't supported on older browsers. Now one might say it's time to get your users to upgrade their browsers but if you have a commercial site and are selling products... png isn't the way to go. Big commercial sites still use jpg to display their wares simply because they don't want to lose those one or two sales from the older browser users. And yes, you can set it for cross browser by coding for it. If this use png, if that use jpg. But that means more programming and uploading two of the same files. Too much of a hassle. It'll probably be a few more years before it's safe to use png on a commercial site.
No, we didn't invent the airplane. Or Autos. Or contact lenses. Or high speed highways. Or stealth technology. Or batteries. Or... the list goes on. It's true we perfected (or helped perfect) a lot, but as far as inventing them... not really as much as one would think.
If we print all the little things we buy we'll save a fortune on doctor bills since we'll no longer have to open a sealed package that would be a challenge to godzilla.
Actually I got 25 mpg in a 90 caprice boat with a 5 liter V8 engine. But I digress.:)
Traction control worked without computers for 1000 years.:) Not saying there isn't an advantage to some things but controlling a gas pedal via computer seems like over kill. Not to mention dangerous.
On the other hand, it would seem to me adding computer controls to things that really don't need (or shouldn't have) computer controls is the more dangerous advancement in "technology".
Break a knob... replace the knob. Break a touch screen... re-mortgage home, remove car, install screen, replace car.
There's been a bunch of web sites that have torn down these products and priced the parts. They all come close to the retail price of the product. But no one takes into consideration that these companies order parts by the millions (If they don't make some themselves).
Yeah but the problem with AA's is length of time before you have to change them. Lions are usually over 7 volts for one thing. So even if the camera has 4 AA's (6v) you're starting out your day with a weaker battery.
But if you're just an average shooter, maybe on vacation, you'll likely have to change them at least once in a day. Under the same conditions a lion will probably go for a week or more. And they generally charge in an hour or less. When I got out of the AA cameras I was pleasantly surprised that one spare and I was good to go for a couple of weeks at a time. And I shoot with Pentax as well.
Well, our lifespans are averaging somewhere in the 70's but it's been increasing over the years. If you eliminate cooking, candles, vacuum cleaners, fossil fuels (the list goes on)... who knows? Our lifespans could be in the thousands. Bottom line is, what we don't know CAN hurt us.
Actually it took about 60+ years to be "re-discovered". Hopefully it'll take another 60. Or at least perfected before they try to shove it down our throats again.
While that may be true in many, if not most cases... doesn't matter. Say Apple (or whoever) designs it. Sends the specs to a manufacturer. The manufacturer produces what they design.
IF there's something they have to build from the plans and use I doubt they would be researching every little screw and rivet. As far as they're concerned if they have a design submitted to them it's up to the company that submitted it to have the legal right to it, not the manufacturer.
In that scenario, if you're a company and design something and submit it to a manufacturer for a quote you'd probably get one in a week or so. The quote that is. They would start production 20 years later once their patent research is done.
So much easier to use and allow you to keep your eyes on the road. If a knob breaks, not much cost to replace. If a touch screen screws up... re-mortgage the house.
New desktop touch screen monitors nearly ready. They come with a hammer and a box of nails so you can simply nail it to any desk for stability. A glue version is also planned for the metal desk. The replaceable clear plastic sheet to protect it from fingerprints is optional.
What am I missing here? Always could have multiple apps since at least win2k. I usually have 3 or 4 at least.
As far as the start button... not really. Just a button that says start. Doesn't do anything the old start button did. But the free add-ons you can D/L do a decent job.
...you should. If you've never been to one there's a certain magic to it. As they say, if you haven't tried it, don't knock it.
IE6 doesn't support them along with that era of FF and others. Not that long ago.

Yeah but this is a primus key. You won't get it cut at your local walmart. Nothing to do with any warning on it.

? Newegg is pretty much second only to Amazon. They're in 3 countries including a new center in China now.
And what exactly does that have to do with anything?

Phones, tablets, game consoles... they all do it.

Since when do we hold title to anything the gov does anymore?
So now the media frenzy can continue. They're pushing for a civil rights trial for Zimmerman.
Getting to the point where there is no such thing as civil rights in this country.
Zimmerman was legally found innocent. Not saying the verdict was right or wrong, but I wasn't in the courtroom either.
So if they can sue him for violating Martin's civil rights they violate the civil rights of Zimmerman.
Catch-22.
On the other hand it may save fuel but you'd probably have to replace tires like that every 100 miles or so which would offset the $$$ savings.
Last time I looked, the hints were that Xbox1 would do the same thing as MSN TV.

"at current consumption, oil (and natural gas) WILL run out (in reality it will just become ridiculously expensive, "
One could argue that it's ridiculously expensive already! But still "fairly" affordable. ;)

I'm in the "almost" category. I detest the "award winning" ribbon.
First game I every played on a PC. There were a bunch of remakes but this isn't exactly an exact remake. Quite a few different twists and turns.
