You didn't? I have an xbox 360 (with kinect) and can't play any game I own without the @#4*@ disc in. And that's the reason I bought one. Finding a noCD hack for the PC was sometimes a real PITA. And yes I have a 250g drive and loaded them onto the drive.
On the other hand I only have a few games. Just hate the controller. I'm a keyboard kinda guy.

But one would think, with all the screaming out there about playing on a controller the #1 option to work on WOULD be an optional keyboard/mouse.

As far as the xbox1? Don't see any reason to go that route. I use the xbox for streaming and that works well. Gaming? Phhtt.

I really don't have a problem if the copyright could be reclaimed by the family either. That is, if it's done before the original runs out. I don't have a problem with mickey mouse or whatever since the company is still using it and still being creative with it.

It's really a problem to me that if they STOP using it and the copyright runs out then any pond scum can come along and claim it as their own.

Oh to be sure. There are some trustworthy. Problem is you never know when or if they'll change. :) On the other hand it's "easier" at a registrar since they usually list hints of something that may be compatible to give you some ideas. But again... if they aren't trustworthy it's like giving the site away.

As far as the site not being set up yet... eh... I dunno. Most let you know whether or not it is. And if it is gone but isn't set up yet, no loss. You'll find out when you go to register anyway since it will already be gone.

On the other hand, for those gamers that detest the controller and only game on the PC... why on earth not install a keyboard option? Or are a few million more customers not worth it? I would think that even if the keyboard was proprietary they'd increase sales by a huge margin.

The most annoying thing on the planet is typing on a console/smart phone/tablet keyboard.

  18. Re:The cloud? on Microsoft Unveils Xbox One · · Score: 1

Until you need to get to the cloud and it's off line. I guess no one remembers (not long ago) when the google cloud died and folks who had no copy on their own machine lost it all. Cloud may be fine for a backup but when it's all you have it's a problem. Ask those who bought the latest simcity.

I have my own servers so that's where I back up to. And folks who "back up" and then delete the files on their own machine... aren't backing up. They're just making a copy. Backup is a copy in more than one location.

But again, until they come up with a keyboard option... I see no reason to upgrade just to (in my case) stream video. I can do that with the 360.

  19. The cloud? on Microsoft Unveils Xbox One · · Score: 1

It's moving everything into the cloud? That worked out well for simcity. So I guess they force you into paying for live as well.

I have a 360 w/konect but only use it for streaming video. Hate playing with controllers.

Not to mention typing on one is a real blast. /sarcasm.

And STILL no keyboard control? It seems to me they could pull tons of users in if they just add keyboard control. With all the console haters out there just that one addition would instantly kill off the competition.

Adobe has always been a company I loved to hate. That's turned to love to detest.
