But if someone makes a careful and articulate post explaining the things they know for a fact, the things they suspect might be true, and the things they just don't know on... these people aren't heeded. Because on Slashdot, it's all about the certainty, not the knowledge, and especially not the knowledge that your knowledge has limits. I'd argue that this is a society-level problem and certainly not restricted to/. The media is full of interviews and news stories focussed on left-extreme vs right-extreme with no thought for the sensible middle ground where most people probably hang out
