Problems like this are caused by poor navigation and too much relience on technoledgy. Even the best tecnoledgy fails. I was a navigator for 3 years in the US Navy. We DID have the sexy GPS decription going on, but we also verified our position every hour using radar, even stars. Occasionally we would cover up the GPS (during drills) and see how well we navigated using an old sextant. When professionals get lazy these problems occur. GPS is a great tool, but only one of MANY tools needed to safely navigate at sea.
I was in the service for about 6 years(Go NAVY). While not active in the reserves, I do have some suggestions for you to use to your benifit from your military traing.
1.Training, training, training. Leadership training, drug awareness, saexual abuse awareness, sensitivity traing. The US military is not just about guns any more. All the training is well documented, and almost all looks good on a resaume.
2. Teamwork. 'Nuff said. Good in any environment.
3. Most employers know that military people are used to working in unusual environments doing a variety of different jobs at once. Multi-tasking under pressure. I've found that my military experience gave me an edge over my competetors.
this is not meant to be a Navy commercial. It's not for everyone. But if you must join, there ARE benefits.
I recieved a spectacular collection of letters written by J.R.R. to his children (and his children's children) called Father Christmas Letters. Awesome. Perfect for getting into the "holiday mood" (and is, quite possibly, on sale now that the season is over). the book is full of the beutifull fantasy that Tolkien is famous for.
Unfortunatly, it is rare that a "smart" teacher gets paid better than a "dumb" one. Fact of the matter is, while teaching is very rewarding, the pay is not enough to attract the people that should be there. That's why I work in IT and not the first grade.
I'm fairly new to the Linux world. My introduction to Linux consisted of a cd full of Caldera goodness. All I had was a 4 gig hard drive. I found that the distro I used was just fine. Filled up my hd much less than windows would and had more options and add ons than I would ever use. What are these people copmplaining about?
'Course the size of the PRICE was what interested me...
of them, actually..
1. I loved the Istanbul not Constantinople Tiny Toons cartoon. Have you done any work with any aother cartoons?
and 2. Do you guys sing the Malcom in the Middle theme? I haven't been following the band for a while, and when I heard the song it sounded like it was either a TMBG song or a cunning replica...
I am forunate enough to work for a large IT corporation that handles global accounts, and we have NUMEROUS overseas positions, especially in the investment banking industry. check it out here. And I'm NOT a recruter, just a happy, well-paid help desk junkie.
ok...your ignorant.
Seriously, I think it is where you place a pen on a fulcrum in between the two buttons creating a mini see saw that helps you hit the buttons faster...or at least prevents you from pushing down on both buttons at the same time...
unless you count the caffine in my double expresso/hot chocolate/cappicina in a monster-sized mug that I down every morning...but when you work in Tech help you have to do what you can...
Seriously... I thought most tech jobs out there require drug testing....mine certainly did.
Tim Burton come back and feature Howard Stern as the Scarecrow. 'Course that's a little pipe dream that many fans of the first 1 1/2 movies (bat 2 only gets 1/2 and thats for putting Mischelle Pfieffer in a rubber cat suit) have been nuturing ever since the early 90's.
sue...mp3....free publicity...hang on to my 15 minutes of a fame a little longer...
whatever. The only way she could possibly impress me is if she dug up the self respect to join her brains with Kurts...scattered all over rock & roll's perverbial floor of fame.
again that money corrupts absolutely. We have to keep in mind that Sun is in the business of making money, & that their means of brining foosd to their tables are the programs, apps, and eratta that they produsce.
Doesn't make them any less of a bunch of bastards, but it's not concievable that itr was going to happen.

No kidding. Jabba in "Jedi" looked much cooler, much more initimidating than Jabba in EP1, Jabba at the race was just some sort of lame joke.
These guys weren't just innocent businessman trying to advertise, they were trying to do something slick...and I for one hope they get hammered.

The front of my PS2 sports a pair of usb ports... I wonder if this could be used as some sort of Uber memory card.....

Battlebots! The Home Game!

of course the implications for flying combat aircraft with this thing would be great.

It is at least theoreticly possible that we will have 747's blowing up terrrorists? Is it just me or is the irony overwhelming?
Will it win me a couple of grand on Battle Bots (comedy central, tuesday at 10:00, Mauler 5150 was ROBBED)!?!?

That and I can't spell to save my life.
