Serriously, the games ARE labled as being violent, if the parents payed any attention at all they would have noticed that the boys were playing violent video games. The real problem is the fact that so many people ignored the warning signs that these boys were troubled that they obviously (and understandibly so) feel guilty.

'Course the best way to releive your guily feelings is to get everone to blame everyone else, because if you took resposibilty for your own actions (or lack thereof) that would make you as much a murderer as the shooters.

I don't think thats what he's trying to say. Yes, an open source game box would be very cool, but this is not the market to present something just because it's cool. Between Sony's already huge stranglehold on the market, the emerging Xbox and Game cube, and the early losses of Indrema and Sega, well, this may not be the time to present a somewhat untested platform. Developers where hesitant to develop for Sony, and Sony is HUGE. No one would be able to make enough money off of the "nix box to justify the cost of developing for it.

Instead I prefer to support the Linux-devloped games that are already on the consoles, like Timesplitters for example.

The real problem is lack of parenting. Parents need to take a more proactive role in the raising oftheir children. Many, any parents today seem to be more worried about being their kid's friend rather than a father,or a role model. We need to stop putting them in front of the TV or in front of the computer and hoping that it will keep them entertained. Our kids do not need tobe entertained, they need to be tought right from wrong, and we need to pay enough attention to them to see when they need someone to turn to. Parents need to stop being lazy.
