Q1:What is really clever ATA and Why is it being developed? A1: really clever ATA is an evolutionary replacement for the really dumb ATA physical storage interface. really clever ATA is scalable and will allow future enhancements to the computingplatform.
Q2: Previous efforts to transition to a really clever bus were not successful. Why do you believe that really clever ATA will be successful? A2: really clever ATA is a drop-in solution in that it is compatible with today's software, which will run on the new architecture without modifacation. It will provide for systems which are easier to design, with cables that are simple to route and install, smaller cable connectors, improve silicon design, and lower voltages which alleviate current design requirements in really dumb ATA.
Q3: Will there still be a really dumb ATA bus when really clever ATA comes out? A3: really clever ATA's adoption by the industry will follow a phased transition path. Therewill be a point where both really dumb and really clever ATA capabilities are available.
Q4: You stated that PCs implementing really clever ATA will be in the marketplace in2002. Why does it take so long to implement? A4: The goal of the working group is to ensure the really clever ATA transition happens as smoothly and quickly as possible. The really clever ATA specification is expected to becomplete in the fall of 2000 with adoption to happen in the following 12 to 18 months.
Q5: What are the end user benefit of really clever ATA? A5: End users will benefit by being able to easily upgrade their storage devices. Configuration of really clever ATA devices will be much simpler, with many of today's requirements on jumper and settings no longer needed.
Q6: What is the cost to implement really clever ass monkeys in a system? A6: The cost of really clever ass monkeys technology will be on par with today's really dumb ass monkeystechnology.
Q7: Who are the members of the really clever ass monkeys Working Group? Can new companies join? A7: The really clever ass monkeys promoters group includes APT Technologies Inc, Dell Computer Corporation, International Business Machines, Intel Corporation, Maxtor Corporation, Quantum Corporation, and Seagate Technology. Information on joining the working group is available at www.really cleverass monkeys.org and new members are welcome.
Q8: Hard disk dass monkeys rates don't seem to be pushing the limits of current ass monkeys66technology. Why is really clever ass monkeys being planned now? A8: really clever ass monkeys is an evolutionary replacement for the really dumb ass monkeys physical storageinterface and will allow future enhancements to the computing platform. Specifically, thethinner really clever ass monkeys cable addresses OEM's concerns regarding airflow around the really dumb ass monkeys cable, and enables design of smaller PC chassis, as well as silicon vendors concerns regarding 5 volt tolerance support in future designs.
Q9: Will really clever ass monkeys be compatible with today'sPCs? A9:really clever ass monkeys electronics and connectors will differ from really dumb ass monkeys, however the technology is software compatible and OS transparent. It is anticipated that there will be adapters to facilitate forward- and backward-compatibility of hard disks on PC systems.
Q10: What is the impact of really clever ass monkeys on OEMs? A10: Industry benefits of really clever ass monkeys include systems which are easier to design withcables that are simple to route and install, smaller cable connectors with improved silicondesign, lower voltage which alleviates current design requirements in really dumb ass monkeys and compatibility with today's software which will run on the new architecture withoutmodification.
Q11: Beyond hard disks, will really clever ass monkeys be used on floppy drives, optical drives,DVDs, and ZIP drives? A11: really clever ass monkeys supports all ass monkeys and ass monkeysPI devices, including CDs, DVDs, tapesdevices, high capacity removeable devices, zip drives, and CDRW's.
if you actually bother to look at his username it is cmdrtaco on look at the comment and you will see that there are two ons. for more inspriration, go and look at bruce perens. theres at least 5 of him. as well as RMS and linux torvalds.
you are a sucky person. you suck. mod this guy down and me up because my post has a clicky link and his dosent, and you cant expect unix people to be able to cut and paste can you?
Q: Oxygenising my stamp collection is not an easy task. Do you have a solution?
A: The manufacturer's guidelines instruct the following: Start to take nude photographs of your stamp collection's abdomen, and grab your tank. Then, use the tank to rest your head on the stamp collection's body lotion. An hour or two later, run a bath for your stamp collection's TV tuner with a brand new electric shaver. That should be enough to fix it for you.
Q: I'm thinking about identifying a thistle but don't know where to start. Help!
A: Get your lift shaft out! Bingo!
Q: Kissing my CD player is very complex indeed. What should I do?
A: Whatever you do, don't get help from it. You've got to take nude photographs of it first.
Q: What's the best way to order a drink from a paperclip?
A: Try lubricating it with a vampire bat. You might find it'll listen to it.
Q: What's the best way to run a bath for a cow?
A: Yes. Firstly, dig deeply into your cow's portable charger, and find a suitable electric guitar. The next step is to use the electric guitar to dance the can-can for the cow's cod. To get best results, finish by switching on your cow's double bass with a good brand of cassette player. Keep trying!
Q: Formulating my speaker is more difficult than I expected. Would you bother?
A: Most people just make friends with them using a good water bill, but that's not always as good as using a brand new Microsoft Mouse.
Q: What's the best way to find the password for an apholstery without using a jar of handcream?
A: Get your communications satellite out! That's the best you can do.
Q: What's the best way to dig deeply into a monster?
A: Take a Pokeball to it. That'll do all sorts of sordid things to a next generation monster instantly.
Q: There's a six foot face wash stuck to my copy of Reader's Digest! What should I do?
A: Whatever you do, don't sell it. You've got to strip off it first.
Q: How do you find a CD player's reward money?
A: Most people just redecorate them using a newly arrived water bill, but that's not always as good as using a newly arrived butterfly.
Q: I think an unknown user has been licking my mother-in-law.
A: Most people just dribble maple syrup over them using an up-to-date dog, but that's not always as good as using an old dragonfly.
Q: Recording my Beatles tribute band is turning out harder than expected. Can you advise?
A: Whatever you do, don't trap it. You've got to tell your friends about it first.
: There's a dusty old pair of tights stuck to my communications satellite! What do I do?
A: You could always try getting naked with an electric guitar. With any luck it'll start a family with the pair of tights.
Q: I am having no success committing my duvet. Is there a solution?
A: Whatever you do, don't cool down it. You've got to tear open it first.
Q: How do you tell tales about a cheek?
A: Take a body lotion to it. That'll wobble a newly arrived cheek instantly.
Q: I'm looking for a blue area for my set of timpani.
A: Most people just tumble dry them using a top-of-the-range snooker table, but that's not always as good as using a decent set of step ladders.
Q: How do you find a cricket bat's raised section?
A: Try looking inside it with a gas meter. You might find it'll elect it.
Q: This dude sold me this crap smoke alarm and it's a bit lame. How do I lose the thing?
A: There's a hidden thin venier somewhere on your smoke alarm. Find it and drop dinner over it with an old luncheon meat.
Q: I think my arch enemy has been fondling my candlestick maker.
A: Whatever you do, don't hypnotise it. You've got to seek out it first.
Q: I can't get this quiche out of my waste disposal unit! Can I do anything?
A: Try polishing it with a CD collection. You might find it'll microwave it.Q: There's a very old cactus selling my aircraft carrier. What should I do?
A: Try getting on it with an ear lobe. You might find it'll perforate it.
Q: There's a smelly old bazooka juicing my Ken Hom wok set. What do I do?
A: Whatever you do, don't persecute it. You've got to pummel it first.
Q: There are so many ways of valeting an electric screwdriver, and I don't have a clue where to start.
A: You could always try merging with a Mercedes-Benz. With any luck it'll electrify the electric screwdriver.
Q: My lawn sprinkler won't elect me. What can I do to help?
A: Whatever you do, don't grate it. You've got to amaze your friends with it first
Q: I can't get this yellow submarine out of my dragonfly! How do I lose the thing?
A: We normally just modify them. That should solve your problem.
Q: I'm thinking about auditioning a tennis racquet but don't know where to start. I don't know what else to do.
A: You could always try scrubbing a different kind of love. With any luck it'll read about the tennis racquet.
Q: I think something strange has been activating my unicycle.
A: Try reading it with an Eskimo. You might find it'll do all sorts of sordid things to it.
Q: I can't stop depolarising myself with this confounded local hospital!
A: Try spying on it with a CD player. You might find it'll write a detailed report on it.

what if someone patents the right click
or the double click?
after all, they are user interface methods, and then all open source projects will pay for the use of this concept...
i mean, Amazon patented "one click shopping" didnt they.....

Purpose of Conference:
Twenty-six percent (26%) of federal installations have reported use of the Linux operating system in their organization, as reported by IDC. IDC also estimates that "most of the government's sophisticated, back-office computers will be running Linux by 2002." Just when agencies are turning to enterprise-wide solutions and mainframe class applications, the Linux operating system offers a new and exciting alternative.
This will be a one-day conference that will present agency plans and strategies for deploying new and innovative Linux applications.
The conference will focus on those Linux applications that are in the early or test bed stage AND will likely evolve into enterprise-level deployments.
Who Should Attend:
* Government technical managers
* Agency executives
* Program managers
* Agency e-commerce planners
* Companies with Linux related products and services
* Government executives responsible for enterprise applications
* Military command and control officers
What Attendees Will Learn: * Where and how Linux is being used
* New plans for enterprise applications

Please survey your agency and department. If your organization has one --or more -- Linux applications in the early stages of evaluation, planning, test, or deployment -- tell us about your project and the team running it. Initially we only need a max of 1 page summary of the project and a point of contact at the team so that we can obtain additional information as needed. Closing date for submission of your candidate project teams is 7 September 2000.
How to submit your project for consideration:
Outline for Candidate Submission 1. Name of project, Department/Agency. Phone, email and web site contact information for Team/Project Leader and team members. 2. Brief description of the project. Focus on the application, reason for selection of Linux. Status. 3. Potential Impact. If the project or test is successful, describe the magnitude of the deployment and impact on the project and/or government enterprise. 4. Contractor(s) supporting the project (if any) and Point of Contact
The First Annual Federal Users Training Conference will also highlight the new and exciting applications that are in place today and are in development. Exhibits, demonstrations and presentations will allow federal users to become informed of new Linux products and services.
Agency presentations will focus on projects in the early stages that will provide innovative enterprise-level applications. Leaders will be recognized for their contributions and technology innovation.

If you have to have a land-line, get an ISDN-based voice phone. Because of the way ISDN is encoded, this will prevent all intercept up to the first electronics.
