Argumentation and Rhetoric is a fascinating subject. The tools of rhetoric were applied skillfully in the caption of this ad. The key clain in the text of the ad is
Microsoft software is carefully designed to keep your company's valuable information in, and unauthorised people and viruses out.
Well, this isn't so far off, as long as you remember to unplug the ethernet and phone cables.
Well, from what I've found XP has much more support for styles than 2000. And i couldn't live with windows without Aikon XP anymore (sorry, but I haven't been able to find a link--if someone is really interested I'll email it to them).
But then, I don't spend that much time in Windows anymore.
Not exactly NASA stuff, but Mendelson's in Dayton, Ohio has just about every electronic device I've ever looked for. If you want a resistor, for instance, they probably have a hundred thousand of the resistor you want.
I use Optimoz's gestures and I refuse to install Radical Context again, due to the lack of a preference panel option. And if you have MultiZilla or QuickPrefs installed, you can launch the Preferences Editor from the little wrench next to the location bar to get a better GUI for changing prefs than found by going to about:config.
Wow--I didn't expect a response to my reply to an AC post. I believe there are better ways to express dislike of Windows and Microsoft than by deliberately mangling their names. And if you really stand behind your opinions, don't post anonymously.
Most of the time I just fail to moderate something that has "M$" or "Windoze" as informative. Microsoft makes good software. I believe Linux is better, but that's no reason to deliberately mangle the name of a corporation or product.
It's like Masterpiece Theater, Rockstar style. Curl up in your library, warm a nice snifter of brandy, and prepare your palette for a decadent trip back in time. That's right - we've gone ahead and decided to take the original PC version of Grand Theft Auto (1997) and give it away to the world, free of charge.
In keeping with the moral of the game itself, we encourage you all to visit www.rockstargames.com/classics post-haste, fill out the form and follow instructions to download this progenitor of the Rockstar lineage at a five finger discount.
The catch? Well, you have to sign up on our mailing list first. But if you're reading this, then that's hardly an issue, eh? And at a hefty 336 MB downloadable zip, of course faster connections and processors will prevail. Visit the Rockstar Classics page for much more detailed information.
Stay tuned for future volumes of Rockstar Classics as we continue to pillage the archives in the months to come...

The rumblings were true. After all, you didn't really think we'd leave our PC loyalists empty handed, did you?
The street date is May 13, 2002 (May 16th for Europe) - and you should know what to expect. The universally acclaimed, lush, epic splendor of Vice City, enhanced for play on the latest and greatest Personal Computers. Further information, screenshots, and more to come in a short spell...

Sorry, mates - this window of opportunity is now firmly sealed shut. Give us some time to pore through the record-breaking number of entries, and we'll be back to report the lucky winners in time for the next Rockstar Broadcast.
I have a friend at a small Christian college that blocks "offensive" sites, but if they need to students can bypass the security using octal IPs instead of decimal (of course, this isn't publicized).
Probably because you flamed me once.
On the internet, a byte is normally 10 bits--8 bits of data, one starting bit, and one ending bit. Thus, 10Mbps = 1 MBps.

The big question is whether or not Palladium will be built into this chip. Anyone know?
Mendelson's fits this category so well that two of us posted comments about it, within the same minute. Kinda tells you something.

Ahh--it's advanced a lot since I've used it.
Warning: do not install the above if you like your normal context menus.
Supposedly Mozilla has MathML support, but they make it a pain to get the required fonts.

If you like your normal context menus, don't install the above. I installed it once and it nearly drove me crazy.

I get at most one email every three months from them, and it's generally something I'm interested in.

If you serve 2.2 million pages per day, then why don't you update the FAQ to reflect that?
Yes, Warcraft II was "the video game" for five years for me. I'd love to have that time back.
Ahh--i didn't realize how to do the "0x42.0x23.0xFA.0x96 -> 0x4223FA96" step. Thanks.
That's fucking hilarious! Mod parent up.
How exactly do you convert 66.35.250.150 to 1109654166? I've heard of doing that, but I haven't found a way to convert one to the other on the web.
