I never intended to personally attack MSwanson. My previous post was an attempt at satire poking fun at the widespread anti-microsoft bias that is so prevalant in this forum. As a matter of fact, I have never used Linux in my live. MSwanson brings up some valid points that I can relate to.
I would personally like to thank the first 200 people who posted replies to this story pointing out that it was *not* in fact a real e-mail from Bill Gates.
You see, I was just getting ready to post my thoughts on Bill Gates officially coming out against Linux, when I happened to glance up to 200 "It's Fake" posts in a row.
Weapons are not the solution in this case. In fact, they are a result of the restrictive laws and harsh trafficing penalties in the US. A large portion of our nations crime is already caused by drug wars. Legalizing certain drugs would eliminate this crime. Just look at the effects Prohibition caused on crime rates in the 1920's.
The so-called "War on Drugs" wastes over 6 Billion taxpayer dollars each year. People are being thrown in jail for smoking pot while violent criminals walk the streets to strike again. It is time for our candidates to speak out in support of abolishing some of our countries biased and opressive drug laws.
Actually, the PAL format, while lacking that all important extra 5 FPS, is considered my most to be far superior to the NTSC standard which your girly USian televisions use.
In the future, moron, you might want to clean up your posts before you submit them. There are several spelling errors running rampant through your text.
Saturn, Genesis, Sega, Nintendo, Sony, Square, Dreamcast, and PS2 are all proper nouns that need to be capitalized.
In addition it is a generally accepted practice to capitalize the first letter of the word at the beginning of each and every sentence.
Just in case you weren't paying attention, I was defending the PS2 in my previous post. While I have not outright said it, I am not a big fan of Sega or the majority of (Genesis, Dreamcast, Saturn) games.

"In fact a common television only updates it's image 30 times a second (even though the electron beam passes over the screen twice as often)"
That's true, but a television or movie screen can give the illusion of a more fluid movement than a digitally rendered image at the same framerate. The shutter speed of the camera capturing the video that you see on your television inadvertantly captures a bit of motion in each frame. What you are seeing in one frame of television is not an instantaneous moment but actually several miliseconds that the shutter was open to fully expose the film. When you are playing Q3 (or Half-Life or whatever) each frame is rendered to be one instant. This is why you need a faster refresh rate on your PC than your television.
I'm sorry, but where does the Dreamcast come into play in all of this. The Sega Dreamcast didn't exactly have the greatest games available a week after it was released.
My point was that it is unfair to compare the visual quality of PS2 vs. X-box games. I'm sure that the vapour screenshots of the PS2 looked a hell of a lot better than what was available for the Dreamcast at it's release, but that doesn't matter. The screenshots i've seen from the x-box look quite impressive, but that doesn't matter a damn bit if I can't play any of these games for another year.
The PS2 wasn't delayed. Sony's original release date was Oct 26. They announced that date almost a year ago and released the PS2 exactly when they originally planned. I'd like to see MS or Intel do that!
I would suggest posting more replys to the parent story as opposed to replying to other user's posts. Generally, this will get your post modded down a bit more quickly and severely.
You may also wish to consider posting replies that will spark a personal hatred in the minds of moderators. Usually, this can be done by flaming Linux, Linus Torvalds or AMD. By causing a moderator to take personal offense to your post, you will be much more likely to be modded down to -1.
For your father's sake, I should hope they don't cause cancer. Did he keep his wallet in his front or back pocket? Either way, that can't be good.
The easiest way to remove the embedded tags would be to swipe them over the counter at the music store.

Would some one please explain to me why in the hell one would need a car to telecommute?

Okay, I'm used to seeing duplicate stories about the same topic on Slashdot, but this is the first time the second story has linked to the first
Does this mean that if I don't send back my reply card each month, my computer will automatically download songs I don't like?

I hope you've got a Mighty big hard drive to store an entire quake game at 200 FPS.
It's just too bad we don't see the quality of games doubling every sim months to match.

Thank you for your time.
The Voodoo 4 and 5 series both offer hardware motion blur, but not many games support it yet.
