He almost has a point until he says the OEM was "untrustworthy" if that's the case does that mean he reformatted the PC instantly when he got it and if so what OS did he use?
As much as I'm not a fan of OEM installs ASUS will let you make recovery media or order it if you prefer, that's totally his bad, not Microsoft or Asus.
Just an FYI, the magic time for play time average was always about 2:30 to 3:30, less than that and repeat players leave, more than 4 minutes and you don't make money either.
These numbers were across both video games and pinball games in the arcades for years, not sure how that's changed in the past 10 years since I've been out of the business, but those were the numbers from the 80's and 90's almost without fail.
If your current needs outstrip the capabilities of our current IT environment, then fund the upgrade. bravo! bravo! that is exactly what arrangement management and IT need to compromise on! (and what I wish we could get across in my current organization)
So you'll refer to any transgender person by their birth gender no matter how many obstacles they've faced in their life? and no matter how awkward it is in the situation?
And what will you do if you've mistakenly outed someone that wasn't transgendered? just making you look silly..
You are aware that the Tivo issue in Series 1 units is Manual Scheduled Items only? I have very good friends that have my old lifetime subbed Tivo Series 1, and they do everything with Season Passes, and other then the display time being wrong, their Tivo won't miss any of their more then a dozen Season Passes.
They knew about the issue, and flat out don't care, since as they put it "we have a Tivo so we don't ever *have* to watch TV live anymore.
for some folks the Tivo Series 1 issue is a non-issue.
Blow away the recovery partition on an HP when you've already made your own recovery media and guess what?
It works perfectly.
The HP Recovery Media does not need the "recovery partition"
However if you blow away that partition before making the media, you're outta luck (since that partition has the source files that are used to create the media.
HPs recovery process is one of the best out there, plain, simple, reliable, and even though they don't give you a copy of the XP CD you can use on every other PC, their media works great on their own PC.
And it doesn't take that long to remove all the flotsom and jetsom that HP leaves behind on the install, they don't hide things the way Acer does..
heck.. it would be nice if it even worked reliably IN WINDOWS!
I have it and love it for the volume and mute function buttons, but the LED notifications were a nice plus, but they only work occasionally at best, and only with "approved software" so by using Trillian the IM LED is always dark.
They really shot themselves in the foot having no configuration on the LEDs.
I don't mind saying I do tend to stand on the soapbox a bit,
the reason I was standing on the box was that the parent referred to it as a sample MARKETING view, please note I was directing at the parent's remark not the grandparent, Apple actually does very well regarding gender in ther ads
she couldn't explain the difference between a Megabyte or a Gigabyte for the life of her.
As a fully qualified geekgirl I can assure you that for one, I DO know the difference between a MB, GB, and the 200TB of data I back up daily..it's pretty demeaning to assume gender has a hold on tech knowledge.
and dammit... I want one.. cause it's cute and pink....
"Outlook is chock full of security holes. Thanks to those holes, it makes worms like Kak possible, whereas it wouldn't be a problem with any other e-mail client."
if you're gonna bash... bash with ACCURATE FACTS!
KAK was never ever invovled with Outlook, KAK was an Outlook EXPRESS based worm, sure MS is a bunch morons for naming two unrelated products the saem base.. just like "Windows Explorer" and "Internet Explorer"
*mutter mutter, grumble, grumble*
I know, you're shaking your head..
but I used to do retail computer repair, and I promise this works, besides, most sticky keyboards are DOA anyway, so it's not like we'll lose the patient.
Keyboard, in the dishwasher, with soap (no, no, no, don't put it in with the dishes, you get food on it, ewww)
Run it through on pots and pans, let it dry for 7 days, then test it, it should work just dandy!

I'd be more amused if you'd said Chicago since that's the correct address for Wrigley Field

not so, this is old TV that was on film, that film has a higher theoretical resolution.
had this been old TV on video tape, that would be different.

I'm in with this, it just makes SO much sense, and it can even be construed as a sense of pride if one lives in the EU..
someone was NOT visited by the clue bunny..
Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority
Had anyone actually read the article (that includes the OP)it's spelled out there.
Of particular amusement are the 2 posters that posted "corrections" that were incorrect.
