I like gnome for the fact that there is an element of "pick and mix" to it - i run WindowMaker but have gnome installed and make good use of several of the tools that come with it. My only problem is with several programs which do things beyond what I need to do - such as the fact that gmc insists on popping up the gnome desktop every time I run it. Getting a full working desktop environment for Linux will will certainly be an important step, but the gnome developers need to remember people that make use of gnome tools without running the whole environment.
Am I the only one who thinks that this idea of icons that show the file contents is really stupid? Firstly, If I want to see whats in a file, i'll look at the filename or open it up. Secondly, it looks ugly. KDE has gone beyond the point of useless eye candy that slows your system down to useless ugly crap that slows your system down.
like the subject says: how _do_ you type on a watch. The picture showed a command shell and one of the linked articles mentioned a "touchscreen" but it doesnt mention how it actually works.
solar powered is all very well but its of little use however, unless it has a hardened steel pickaxe blade or a 500rpm circular saw.

so instead of integrating a browser into the os now, we're integrating an os into the browser?
