Would this be good home line replacement? Both my mother-in-law and my wife make long, long calls all day. Assuming this works as advertised, for 10$ a month one could get unlimited national calling and get rid of the expensive land line. Am I missing something here?
"You don't want your computer to be an open platform," meaning that anyone can write applications for it and potentially gum up the Internet, says Jobs. "You need it to work when you need it to work. Cox doesn't want to see their West Coast network go down because some application messed up."
Well, the whole network went
down yesterday without any help.
Just tried to install the Fiesty Fawn thingy. It goes in alright but I need to be root to set the puppy up. I refuse to be crippled by some piece of.... that wants to protect me from myself. I refuse to put in my user password every damn time I want to do anything. You can always use these handy commands:
Okay, fair enough, it sounds like an advert, but I was just trying to say that sites like Live365 offer great a variety of radio stations, and they are invaluable for people who like to explore different kinds of music in a legal and inexpensive manner. But I concede to the fact that I sounded like a front person for Live365, but I'm jut a fan.
Whatever they decide on, it will have to happen soon, because the new rates go into effect in 16 days. It'd be a shame to see Pandora, Live365, and other multi-stream webcasters eliminated.
I love Live365, It would be a same to see them go under. They have an amazing selection of music and for 3.65 a month it is a great bargain.
I think it would be great if the new track pads would be based on an LCD multi-touch screen. We could then have a mirror image or a partial image of our LCD monitor on the track pad. This would truly be an innovated change and add endless possibilities to user interface enhancements. They could probably use a smaller version of the iphone screen. Would this work?
Those of you calling colleges "spineless", would you rather the kids were blindsided by the legal system instead?
I would rather have the University give the students a head up and tell them that the University is doing all they can to help the students, instead of aid the music industry. The University should look after their interests: the students.
that they identified the correct students? If I were a student who is struggling just to pay tuition and rent, I'd panic. And if the University misidentifies a wrong student, then is it liable for harm done to the student? This seem highly irresponsible to me.
laws, problems, infringement on our personal freedom as in the "real world." The Web used to be an escape from all the bullshit of the daily grind, and now it is just as bad. At least there is still one place were it has been spared the stupidity of the masses : u****t.
Watch the original Russian movie, it's much, much better than the newer American remake. The original movie is a lot longer and much more insightful. I saw both, and the remake was quite disappointing, while the original was quite engaging.
When I first read the story headline, I got a sick feeling in my stomach. I don't know why, but I fear that Microsoft can do some real damage to FOSS if they put their mind to it. Corporations seem to fear Microsoft and this can play into MS's hand. Am I just being paranoid? I'm really starting to hate them. I've been pretty neutral up until this time, but Fuck, why can't they just leave the FOSS alone?
I really don't understand the writer's motivation. He left Google for Yahoo over privacy concerns, but Google went to court and fought to have their customers' private data from being handed over to the U.S. government, while Yahoo happily handed over info to the government without a fight. I don't know what this guy is trying to accomplish.
This will be a total disaster without well trained teachers. I think this program will be successful if, and only if, the children have highly qualified teachers to guide them. I'm afraid some officials may be looking at the computer as a placebo for their education woes. The hard reality is that third-world country are in dire need of teachers.
Have you been with women who are over fifty? They know a lot more about sex than about knitting supplies. You need to broaden your horizon and climb a mountain once in awhile, you will be pleasantly surprised at what you find just over the hill.
I think it means that it is more important to get a new product out the door on time and working properly than to deliver an upgrade to an already mature and polished product.
I don't think that OS X 10.5 will be released for common PC hardware( But who knows, nothing surprises me these days). I think that if apple were to allow their OS to run on other machines, Apple would probably bundle their OS with a major PC manufacture like HP.

I'm just curious if anyone has developed programs for Linux using Real Basic. How is man enough to admit it? I'll say yes, if you do :)
FYI: I just installed Safari on win 2000, and it works perfectly!
So he is suing in the U.S., but where was he when he sent the e-mail? And from a legal perspective, does physical location matter?

It is simply an external monitor and keyboard for my smart phone. What I don't get is who's asking for such a device?
Does anybody use it anymore? I learned it in high school and now I don't hear much about it. I know that Mac OS classic used it, but that is about it.
Hey ColonelPanic, Please Relax, they are just kids doing the best they can. Blame it on their parents. It's not their fault. Peace :)

I RTFA, it will support XP. I jumped the gun!
It will only run on Vista.

How many Dicks (I mean Richards) work for MS?
