    Did Apple ever figure out how this works with backup and restore? This feature was actually disabled shortly after its introduction. I am not aware that it has been reenabled.

    Actually, for pure Swift code, it's rather easy, as compiler optimizations go. The problem is the dynamism of Objective C.
