I think one thing that's really hard to test is if a different doctor, whether younger, from a different med school or a different ethnicity, would have done any better. This is because, by the time you know you want to check, the patient is already dead. And no two people are exactly alike, so, ethics aside, you can't run blind tests.
For some reason, there are always lots of idiots who think that researchers no nothing about statistics, and never think to correct or account for obvious factors. Slashdot is practically the poster boy for the Dunning-Kruger effect.
That's right. Let's ignore all the attempts by ISPs to throttle competing traffic. Because those facts are inconvenient to our story that the Internet will remain as it always was.
It is material that already exists in the public domain.
I don't like the idea of copyrighting jokes, either, but this argument is just plain wrong. Stories of all sorts have existed for centuries, or longer, but adaptations get copyright all the time. In this sense, jokes are just short stories.
I've never understood why anyone thinks an AI would be better than the best humans. But anyway, we already have software that perfectly deals with syntax errors -- the compiler. Avoiding syntax errors isn't really necessary. The time spent fixing syntax errors is absolutely minuscule, compared to the time spent on every other aspect of development.
Go fuck your turtle, you ignorant shit-wad. I use Macs exclusively, and I can't recall the last time I used a function key as a function key. I'm sure it's happened in the past 5 years, but I don't remember any such events.
Given the level of pretentiousness in your post, I'd say you have to learn to not be a shit. What the fuck does the Constitution have to do with how a member of the military chooses to address anyone? You're a dipshit, and you deserve to be addressed as such.
What does pay rate have to do with it? You'd call the gas station attendant shit-for-brains to his face, just because he's not paid much? What about your waiter? He's probably paid less than minimum wage.
You seem to be a shit-wad, which has much more to do with how people interact with you than the amount of money you get paid per time period.
1) you aren't paying the professor. You are paying a company (University) to provide a service. The professor is the employee of the university, not the employee of the students. 2) not understanding the above is why you are a shit person to be around, and why you will not be missed. Ever.
The issue with iPhone 6s is not that the battery runs down particularly fast. The issue is that iOS thinks it does. It's very annoying to have the phone drop from 30-some percent to zero and shut itself off. Turning it on immediately shows between 20% and 40% battery remaining. One of the early iOS 10.x patches introduced this bug, and Apple's taking their time to fix it. Or took their time, if 10.3.2 actually addresses it. I'm not holding my breath.
Google respects privacy as much as your friend does when you tell him something personal. You tell Google stuff, Google doesn't tell anyone else. How is that not respecting privacy?
A monopoly does not require a literal single source or player. In legal terms, a dominant position is enough to be considered a monopoly. A natural monopoly, on the other hand...

The mortality rate for everyone is 100%.
Flawed anonymous comment. The headline doesn't imply causation, and I bet the study doesn't, either.

Siri uses the Dragon engine for speech to text. It's literally impossible for Dragon to be doing it better.
If the countdown to those 10 to 20 years starts in approximately 3413423 years from now, sure. I'm not terribly worried.

It's almost as if you've been ignorant of the computer market for the past 35 years.
Given the U.S. Constitution...

... kiss the person who is paying the bills ass.
Who the fuck pays a bill's ass, and why would anyone want to kiss that person? What kind of ass does a bill have, and how does one pay it, anyway?

Improving for more than it worsens is not actually the same as for everybody.
Economists have invisible hands.
It's almost as if you didn't read the comment you replied to. Or your tone is just off.
Don't make me reset my password when I've merely forgotten it
If a site doesn't make you reset, never go back. It means they have your password in plaintext, and that they'll send it to you in plaintext.
That's a stupid example. Prior to using their own source, Flint was paying Detroit for water. And Detroit's water provider is a government entity.
I'm pretty sure you're comparing apples to neutron stars here.
There's also no proof that Google is abusing their position to stifle competition.
