Wow. 2 Slashdottings for us Arsians in such a sort span of time... I hope some of your guys get subscriptions to that site to help us with the bandwidth bill.. =D
Back on topic, I can attest that this is a great article. Before, all I knew of.NET was something about subscription services and some set of servers... Now it all makes sense...
There would have been an additional 25000 letters from the Windows User Group.
But they either crashed their computers every 12 minutes writing the letters or got blocked by Office XP's WPA after they replaced their broken network card.
Actually, this is the concept behind Project Entropia.
You don't pay to play, you just pay to have money in game and you get that money back out in real life too.
I'm assuming there will be some type of commission, but if you've got the cash..
The problem is: I can easily see this being a much more destructive addiction than EQ has ever been to anyone. I can see people on the side of the streat bumming money for "just one more PED!" (Project Entropia Dollars)

If that's really the whole source code, how come this hasn't cropped up on warez site, or various underground trading methods?
I mean, that'd be rather nice bartering material for some people I know.
Shouldn't this have been a poll?
Oh wait, which to choose? CmdrTaco or Cowboy Neal?!?!?!?!

actually, they use the "MICROSOFT BROAD SOURCE LICENSE". Hmm...MS's own open source license... this could be interesting....
Isn't that kind of like Windows firewall?
I mean, they're always freezing to a halted state too

Anyone actual get one of these cds and figure out what's on them? Sounds like just a promotional CD to me, not any actual copy of XP.
Hmm.. Now if this catches on, I'll have to convert my AOL cd launcher to an XP cd launcher.
No real difference, only it'll be even more deadly, so I'll have to install a safety...
