The bulk of what people want is fancy graphics, violence and cool sounds. I love to sit back and play the old games that every one thinks suck because they're mostly text based. Of course, with the advent of high speed processors, some of them are impossible to play now.
I have to agree somewhat with Cliffton, but at the same time there are some things that I do not ever want placed in my body. In my opinion, if you want a chip inside of you and your children, by all means, have a blast! It's got some good ideas backing it up. But, as long as we have a choice. My only fear is that if they make it mandatory. Making the use of technology mandatory is a great way to bring it closer to government abuse.
Give me a choice, let me live how I want, with or without certain technological aids, I think 100 is a pretty damn good length of life! And I'll let you live how you want, as long as it doesn't interfer with my life.
The only problem I had with the article was the it went on to talk about how much money is lost due to piracy. Granted, a whole lot is lost, BUT, if say a game, or work processor hasn't been available for purchase in the last 10 years, have they lost any money when it's copied? I don't think so.
I believe that if a company wishes to maintain their copyright on some software, then publish archive CDs of all your all apps every now and then so we can get a hold of them.
(Personally, I think the source code for all of the really old programmes should be made available too! The program is not being used commercially anymore, let's use it for some educational purposes to look at techniques on how things were done)
I'll just have to grab really hard onto that giant plug that's in my back yard. Once it comes out of the socket the whole internet will die!!! MUWAHAHAH!! After I unplug the internet I will go and send a mass email to everyone and laugh at them!!!
Why should a celebrity get better treatment than everyone else? Just because they're famous? If someone registered a domain under a non-famous persons name, (not in good faith), say www.SammyJohnson.com (random name) would poor Sammy that just happens to be an underpaid computer consultant, possibly a janitor have a chance and getting the "squatter" off of his name? Probably not. This is just another case of famous people getting treated better than the rest of us because they're famous. But what do I know, after all I'm not famous. (nothing against sting though, I love his work, especially his old Police stuff)
I just have one problem with voice recognition... Let's just say you're writing your essay and pacing your room while writing it, stubbing your toe and swearing every now and then. Now won't that look good in your report! Especially if you spill coffee on yourself and start swearing non-stop for oh, 8 pages?:)
Oie, I remember a few years back as a newbie to the internet I wanted to search for something and went to www.alta-vista.com instead of www.altavista.com (a simple mistake). *shiver* mispelt popular domain names are bad!!
