The historical background of the USA as a collection of sovereign states notwithstanding
History can't be dismissed with a single word! That smaller population states would get disproportianate electoral votes was a key factor in convincing many states to join the US. It can't just be taken away, even many decades later.
Speaking as a parent of a child bullied in first grade, the cutoff is not much older than your boys' ages right now. I hope you're punishing their behaviours appropriately. They're already old enough to know better.
Perhaps that's equally important -- those demonstrations are made by individuals using their own moral compasses and NOT being told what to do by their Islamic leaders.
Coming down on Malala's side isn't exactly brain surgery, but if this is any sign of a Pakistani surge in secularism and thinking for one's own self, I'll take it!!!
Fantastic post, and very similar to my own system. I thought I'd share the mildly more complex angle I have which involves a second pair of shoes coloured brown and a set of white socks for wearing with said brown shoes. These are with either brown pants or jeans.
You're making the same mistake hardware geeks have been making for many years now. The specs on paper may be better but how is the unit's build quality and usability of the OS? The touchpad on the Zenbook is much worse.
It's harder to quantify those things, but this is where Apple got it right and everyone who would ever buy something from newegg.com has it wrong.
why is the decline in their Mac lineup continuing when it peaked a few years back? I don't know the answer to that.
That's easy. Macs have useful lives longer than PCs do, and desktops/laptops are in decline while tablets and smartphones are on the rise (consumers buy new mobile devices much more frequently as well).
I'm not sure what your point is. I CAN, however, tell you what the difference between schools in Newark and Millburn Township is: Parents who give a shit.
If someone can come up with a way to coax parents from poor socioeconomic backgrounds to start caring about providing educational support to their kids, they can have all the rest of the Nobel Prizes for the rest of eternity AFAIC. It may be the biggest problem faced by society in the USA.
Today you can order a XPS13 off dell.com which will come with Microsoft pre-loaded.
I hate Windows as much as the next guy, but if they're bundling a $250B company with each XPS laptop purchased, even *I* want to get in on this promotion!
The next election is a long way off. This is the time for Harper to implement these unpopular measures. They'll be out-of-mind for voters 3 years from now.
For single socket stuff that isn't too performance sensitive, AMD has the additional advantage that cheap consumer level boards support the otherwise expensive enterprisey features of ECC memory. If you care about that sort of thing, then getting a Phenom II is much cheaper than a 1 socket Xeon.
Phenom II is almost completely gone from the channel now, have you run the numbers or done any performance testing with the AMD FX- line?
Our JBoss/MySQL-based app server is one application where Phenom II indeed performed as well or better than i7. Testing on a new 8-core FX system we just got in made an improvement much higher than I expected over Phenom II.
I don't put much faith in any what any software that ends in -mark tells me. Show me the real-world performance please! Preferably using DB or server software or my company uses.
Don't forget the West Coast Shaw and Telus duopoly.
If the level of competition in the Vancouver area is any sign of what a duopoly can be, bring it on!
I live in Ontario, where our duopoly just teamed up to buy the Toronto Maple Leafs and the CEO's appeared at the news conference looking like best friends. It seems not all duopolies are created equal.
Ask it about Exchange next!
There's no "I think" about it, you need to buy systems with OEM Windows to use your MS VLA.
An opinion like that must be built from non-Linux experience.
Back to the OP, my experience with cards like these are usually fine in Linux:

Holy shit. I just realized you're right. There's no wired network port.
He's not right. Buy the one that has the wired network port if you need it.
The problem of these devices is not the price, but the lack of basic audio output ports and ethernet.
Buy the one that comes with an ethernet port. Sound comes through the HDMI port.

They'll be vastly better, but they won't be vastly better-selling.

It rang true to me and almost every other Slashdotter who read those words I'd wager. Rebuttal required.
I'm Canadian and your post absolutely SCREAMS Wind Mobile (you don't have to answer if you don't want to).
I think Globalive uses Huawei gear in most or all of the other countries they have a presence in as well...

Moderate or pragmatist? No party affiliation for these poor souls in the U.S. but no ALL Americans have gone off the deep end...

17" gaming laptop (bought on Canadian Boxing Day sale) vs. 13" ultraportable
Apples and oranges.
Who's up next with their contrived comparison?

Seagate is shipping 3TB drives composed of 3 x 1TB platters (as of about Nov of 2011) I don't see why a 4x1TB platter design should be far off.

Pretty excellent drive, it's a shame they lowered the warranty to a not-at-all-acceptable 1 year term :(
Congrats for your excellent record on human rights guys! Now tell me where was the flash, RAM, PCB, modem, antenna, LCD, etc, etc, etc were made.
