Or actually closer to what you mean, there are
already brain-implants, wich uses electrodes to communicate with the brain directly, this is used today for people which have become blind or deaf.

They started experimenting with this in the 1940s, where they could show braille to a blind person, by directly stimulating the visual cortex using electrodes.

Now they are much better, with actual low resolution grey scale from a camera.

For hearing they use a spectrum anayliser connected to a string of electrodes, which is inserted in the ear and replaces the small hairs. you know, the ones that fibrate at different frequencies

On a shooting range, there are cops of different countries: a german cop, an american asult force officer and the british bobby.

So the german cop shoots his sidearm empty on the target (resembling a human). result twelve small holes.

Then the armerican cop shoots his asult rifle empty on the target. result a many more holes.

Lastly the bobby runs toward the target and smashes his stick into the target, completely destroying it.

I use a computer about 80 hours a week, which
is a lot I know. And a few months ago I got a pain in my left wrist, so I stopped and actualy took some sick leave.

But even after a week it still was painfull to type, so I tried to find out why and I located the problem to using the ctrl key, which made my hand strain (especialy the ctrl-b and ctrl-f combinations).

The solution was rather simple, I remamped my ctrl key to the caps-lock key (old keyboards actualy had the ctrl key there). And I disabled the old ctrl key so that I would unlearn to use it.

The next day and ever since I'm typing happely again. Except, I get confused when I have to type on some one elses workstation :-)

BTW I already had the caps-lock disabled anyway, because I mostly use vi and it is rather anoying to see your lines joined instead of moving downwards, when you accidentaly have activated the caps-lock.

    It is al relative.

All they need to do is map all the points within a short time from each other.
The distance between those points will not change. Anyway surveying has always been relative to a point, such as the tower of a church.

At least in the netherlands and germany they used to survey using churches and measure angles between multible churches to know the distance between each church.

So no more, we have to change al the IP addressen on al the computers by hand in the same night situation anymore.

Although I only have 5 computers at home, it was incredibly easy to change from my 3ffe:: prefix to my new 2001:: prefix. This change was inlcuding a change in prefix lenght (subnet mask).
I only needed to add the new prefix to the router and eventualy delete the old one.
