Swapping to RAMDisk? What's the point?
If that RAM wasn't used by the RAMdisk, you wouldn't have to swap!
So, you're putting an extra load on the memory manager and the filesystem to move programs around in your RAM instead of leaving them in place. Nonsense.
What a ridiculous concept. The security of an infrastructure is far more the people and dedication to keeping on top of issues more than it's the operating system. ... The idea that Linux=Secure and NT=Insecure is absurd and simplistic.
So, does it mean the insurance statistics have now proven that MS admins are morons who can't make their boxen secure?
Maybe the average woman tend to drive worse than the average man (this is still to be proven), they cause less car crashes, because they don't drive like crazy.
They cost less to the insurance company, so the insurance price is lower for them.
Ok, I'll start the troll:
The only distro that's best suited to your needs is Linux From Scratch, just because you have to choose the packages yourself.
Err, maybe LFS does not really qualify as a distro...
Then I'll just re-enable floppy boot.
Password protected BIOS? I'll open your box and remove the battery to blank the password, use the not-so-secret BIOS vendor password, or just replace the BIOS chip (can even be done with the computer ON).
Yes, but you sometimes have an active wait, where the cpu will just run through a series of NOP, just to wait for a very short time (say, a few ns or s).
BTW, how long is a NOP on a clockless computer?
Without computers, you won't have electricity, water, gas, phone, and most factories will just shut down. In fact, we will be back to the 18th century, except we will have more knowledge (but most of our knowledge is stored in computers).
This will affect more than 95% of the world population, I think.
I would just love to see if there have been responses to my anonymous posts, too (ie, when I am authenticated but check 'post anonymously'). Just to check how my trolls worked, or how bad my karma would have been if I had signed my post.
Of course, other users should not be able to see my anonymous posts...
I use:
find . -exec grep string {} \; -ls
I even made an alias name rgrep (recursive grep) for it because I use it all the time to search in source soce.
Unfortunately, some sites cannot be accessed by IP (Because of virtual hosts or something AFAIR). For instance you cannot browse to goase.cx by IP (Hey, look! I managed to put a gaotse link without trolling!)
What you can try then is to replace some letters with their hex codes : use %61 to get an "a" for instance...
Of course, if it's block at the IP number level, it won't work.
Other idea : Someone should make a public web anonymizer that would mangle (reverse, rot-13, whatever random) the domainname...
Everybody come back to the free tribune.
Fucking Mussels !
Informative? He didn't even read the article!
They're filing for an IPO on the European market, so the SEC is of little interest.
The air is free. Don't complain about pollution.
No, there isn't Netscape anymore

P = (v^2)/R
or
P = (I^2) R
it's just the same...
Ever heard of default values?
like 55 mph on the motorway for instance in US.

368 lifts?
Image the space they will take!
What will be left for useful floor surface?
I beat it easily (it is a little weak at the end).
But I have a question: Who is julie?
(see source code at the end)
A Robot/AI must must obey the agents of the US government whatever their orders may be.

You'll have to put your computer in a safe...
With your IP address and some geographic database like this one, it is quite easy.

Some sexy commands: strip, touch, finger, mount, fsck ...and 'man sex' on some machines.

No. You cannot patent an algorithm in Europe.
