We know the fact is that Mars and the Earth has warmed over the same period. If not the Sun, I'm open for a reasonable explanation. Mars and Earth are in adjacent orbits. Maybe it's frictional heating from passing dark mater. What ever is changing Mars is probably changing Earth.

    Cause and effect.

Here's what we know (for sure) about global warming:
Increases in atmospheric CO2 cause warming.
Man has been increasing the amount of CO2 in the atmosphere.
    The Earth has been warming.

Here is something else we know about global warming.

Sun cycles cause Global Warming and cooling.
In past cycles, the CO2 in the atmosphere was at elevated levels. The elevated levels were due to warmer oceans releasing CO2 as they warm. (CO2 levels followed heating, not led it)
Our Global Warming cycle is the same as the Global Warmming cycle on Mars.
My theory is our greenhouse gasses are not responsible for the warming on Mars, but I have no way to prove it one way or another. I also believe that what ever is causing the Mars global warming is also impacting our global warming to a great degree. I believe most of our warming is from the Sun a known common source of heat for both planets.

What is not known is how much influence we really have on Global Warming. Our impact may be the same as holding a lit lighter in a room and blaming it for the recent rise in room temprature even though it is July. In January, let me know if the lit lighter overheated the room.

Personally I think walking causes air movement (called wind) and hurricanes are the result of too much wind, therefore I should stay seated and type on Slashdot lest I destroy New Orleans agan.

One of the characteristic sights on New York City streets is big tanks of liquid nitrogen standing on the sidewalk, steaming away, with lines running from them down a manhole. Why? Because, iirc, many of the telephone company switching systems already run supercooled and when a repair needs to be done they need supplementary chilling.

Actualy many of these tanks are there to supply pressurised dry nitrogen into telephone cables to keep moisture out or dry cable that has gotten moisture in them. Plain PVC insulation on telephone wire conductors will become slightly conductive when wet creating a leakage path that is often very noisy. If you ever used a phone that tended to whistle, pop, click and have other noise on it, it is often from a wet line. The the worst case, the leakage is bad enough to produce an off hook condition preventing you from receiving calls and corroding the conductors.

The thick outer jacket on the phone wire is HDPE which is highly water resistant, but almost all plastics allow some moisture migration. Sometime installation will snag an underground cable and damage the outer jacket or rodents use it as a chew toy.

The problme with most membrane switches is the limited life. The rubber is not conductive. The pads on the rubber is conductive, but it is not a low resistance. With age the contact cunductive surface begins to flake, wear, etc. With a full keystroke and a light touch, the results are tactile feedback for keystrokes that did not make a solid connection. Dirt and moisture accelerate the problem.

The Model M on the other hand does not use switches. There is no contact wear, corrosion of contacts, high resistance, or conductive rubber wear.

The Model M is a capacitance switch keyboard. No electrical contact is required. When the bucking spring drops the actuator, it's presence is detected by the change in capacitance regardless of any change in "contact resistance". This lack of change in electrical properties over time is why they have such a high relibility rating. If the key clicks, it input the keystroke, unlike many membrane keyboards which requre proofreading to check for mssing leters. Contact bounce is often corrected in the keyboard encoder, so only the severest electrical failures create ddouble keyprress problems. Most problems are related to mising keystrokes. Read some of my old posts and you can tell when I posted at work, as that is the posts with IE without spellcheck and the membrane keypad that often leaves out the random keystroke.

Above double stroke and missing letters are intententional and for example of typical keyboard problems. Tactile feedback is often wrong with membrane keyboards.
