Mozilla is a tad bit faster but it is buty-ugly to look at compared to IE.
When's the last time you downloaded a new one? Mozilla for OS X has had an "Aqua" style appearance for like three or four months now.
Sheesh, people, quit judging Mozilla based on stuff before 0.9.5. There may have been a few regressions here and there, but there has been a lot of progress since the start of the year.
Just a simple call to Billy-Bob's Bubba Backhoe Service should be enough to do the trick. Either that or deploy suicide squirrels around their UPS room.

I have an ADB and a USB Kensington Orbit. If only I could figure out how to get MacMAME to use them properly in these games. (I'd also like to get proper analog control working in Spy Hunter and Arkanoid.)
Even better, if he wants his friends to communicate freely, he should give them Unix shell access.
Even better yet, give them SSH access. Then they can port-forward to his mail server from the inside, where there are no open relay problems.
Either way, if he's really only leaving the relay open for his friends, and not for so-called "friends" whom he's never met before, he should make them prove their identity as his friends through some means of authentication. There is no reason that I can think of that should require him to run an un-authenticated server so that a handful of people can use it.
but with a 50Mhz fsb and its use of 168pin fast page memory (now there is a great example of apple foisting off a dead end technology on their faithful users). Upgrade is not much of an option.
Apple didn't "foist" off anything with that RAM. Apple was simply the first consumer manufacturer to go to the DIMM form factor, before SDRAM became widely used. At that point in time, it wasn't even certain what the next memory technology standard would be, so sticking with 5V FPM wasn't such a bad idea. By the time the PC cloners moved to DIMM memory, 3.3V SDRAM had become the standard.
And those DIMMs are pretty cheap on ebay these days. Even last year I was able to get a pair of 128M for $90 each. My old Power Tower Pro (and the Power Wave I found cheap recently) has eight sockets, for a total of 1 gigabyte max. The last time I checked, they were down to $50-$60 each on ebay.
After all this time, I still only have 4 karma on MacSlash. Only about 1/4 of the time do my attempts at k-whoring work. The bad thing about apple.slashdot.org is that I already maxed my karma here long ago. Oh, and I don't get that l33t 4-digit UID #1919.
And YES, if you have two or more machines, you will need to do the download n times because the file can't be opened after download.
Download the installer through Apple's web page instead of using Software Update. You can even get a "combo" updater that updates from as far back as 10.1.
How about the one where in list view, when you move icons into and out of folders, the @#%#@$!! file name pane would shrink every time! It's about time they finally fixed that one. It was really driving me nuts.
Now if they would just bring back icon labels/colors. That's how I sort my pr0n, which is still kept on a 9.1 machine.
Unfortunately, most of my e-mail comes in on my ISP account, which I don't have similar access to. Perhaps when I get a co-lo server someday, I'll start using my own domains for e-mail.
The only problem was, the monkey kept trying to throw poo through the phone.

What about the those people who use approved wireless equipment (phones, wireless networking) and now have to deal with the background noise coming from his souped up repeater?
Sigh, another person who didn't read the article. The repeater is a passive repeater, a threaded rod, some washers, and some PVC pipe to seal it up in. The only thing "souped up" was his base station. Which is still at his house. On the other side of the hills.

In the VERY near future, wireless devices like this are going to have to become *very* durable to stand up to long-term outdoor use... and I don't mean having a water-tight battery compartment. A lot of the stuff out there... Pringle Can antennas, anyone?... is homerolled hacks.
Did you even read the article before posting? This is a passive repeater. There is no battery compartment. It's just some threaded rod, washers, and some PVC pipe to wrap it all in. He also claims that he's going back to his DSL service until he can find out who "owns that oak tree" and ask permission. He also admits that it may not work as well once the tree starts producing leaves again in the spring.
Although I will admit that now he's told us it's in a tree somewhere near the USGS marker on the top of a specific hill, the chance that it will be "visited" is much higher. Sounds like a future geocaching location to me...
I mail the video to my parents. Now, okay, it's pretty small -- around 5 megs or so -- but I forget my parents are still on a modem. So I get this angry call from my dad: "What the hell did you send us! The modem's been nonstop for an hour!"

Try an http://ftp.mozilla.org/... link instead. I always download by HTTP whenever an FTP server has it available.
