I rtfa and I could care less, noscript > adblock anyways, so if you like opting in to website, noscript still does this I hear, there's also other ad blockers out there. Can you really blame the guy for wanting to make money w his app? If you got a problem go make your own especially on something as trivial as this ad blocker that ppl seem to be bashing left and right.

I don't get it, I can find more about sci-fi at my LOCAL library, definately the sci fi channel website... oh well, I wonder if this is what people are talking about when they post shit on / looking for hits to their website. This reminds me of a wordpress site maybe.
I can put something like this together in a month from code w better nav aond colors prolly, assuming I can copy paste the content, which is fair since I'd be the developer, NOT the researcher on the project.
Still a very strong start, not a 20 year one though.
Wow, I haven't been to woot in ages, I've been using techbargains for the longest time, I am thinking of newegg however when I think of the hdd costs since the flooding crisis. And of course you do realize on a hdd you have to factor a lot more (well not A LOT) than storage = money (ex. wd green, wd blue, wd black).
For all of apple's evils, UI design is something they got right. Now I have an android phone and ehm a win 7 tablet (from work), as well as a touch. I do take advantage of the additional functionality in android (free tether ftw), but in terms of simple yet elegant design, I think my touch makes finding things the easiest and most intuitive of the 3. An e reader would work, but only offers a fraction of the functionality, I can see an advantage in having a browser while your reading, as well as internet connectivity say for a more interactive textbook experience. The biggest issue I can see is the cost, ipads and all apple products are expensive, some would argue overpriced. In terms of functionality though, the difference is in approach and thats like say apple has something like sticky notes, the best thing I was able to find in android was evernote, but that requires setup and an account, while taking notes is achievable with both devices, the apple happens to have this out the box, the android requires time and research, so I can see the reasoning behind the decision to go with apple, we're talking about general education here, not an IT lab.
SSDs came long long after 1 tera hard disks, so no ssd prices won't drop as a result of this, not by much more than they are already declining anyways. I'd just assume everybody ALREADY HAS their spinning disk storage solution, and if not your timing makes you unlucky unless you can hold off, the prices really are bs right now.
All I'm saying is if I was powering tiny machines, I'd look into an electric field or an external heat source (ex. human body), but now correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't this require a constant input of water defeating the portability?
Hmm, I've uploaded a few videos to youtube in the past, I didn't examine the UI in great detail, but I know for an account they didn't ask me for anything that would allow them to give me funds or vice versa, I wonder what the details are, but am too lazy to google it. I've never heard of anybody sustaining off of youtube either, so it can't be a whole lot:)
But then again how many people are qualified to build a tunnel? I'm sure you gotta factor stuff in like the ground composition and in this case the engine for the hydraulic pump, I'd imagine good tunnel builders are hard to find. Otherwise, take the "Breaking Bad" approach and eliminate your competition:) , doesn't make you much better than the cartels, but your no good dead either. I can't imagine the cartel threatening him like though, if they deal like that w everybody, nobody will step forward to do anything for them, and kidnappings only get you so far and probably cost more than just paying the guy.
He must have had a reason for working w the cartel in the first place though.
It'll certainly blow up in their faces one day, but remember who is leading the war on drugs, and that's parents who are too lazy / stupid to teach their kids not to snort coke at 16. They are the loudest and most obnoxious about fighting drugs and thus get law enforcement their autos and their abusive rights.
I'm interested in seeing what my generation does though, there is almost nobody who doesn't know what the drugs are or their effects if not first handed, and the current generation's political influence fades off. But for us to replace those people is another couple of decades, so bear on I guess.
There's a lesson to be learned here... if building a tunnel for a mexi drug lord, ensure he pays you enough to get far away and live comfortably upon completion.
See this is what original article means by "people with no strong computer science background", OP was joking about the caps, they have nothing to do with the code base besides how the code displays.
The community will port 4.0 to existing phones and newer ones, just like gingerbread. This is because google releases the code to everybody, rather than OEMs. On the atrix, it was due to go up to gingerbread by Motorola, but long long before that gingerblur came out bringing with it most of the features. The official update was of course slightly better, but then again the atrix is locked, what can we expect?
P.S. unlocked phones get much much better support from the community, such as the g2, so it may be worth staying tuned to XDA for your phone and see if 4.0 is ported to it yet.
All adblock needs to do to work is block the annoying adds, embedded adds are more a feature of the web admin than an actual ad, if youtube advertises for you to watch a video, there is nothing you can do, that is something running on their end. A lot of ads aren't like this, they pop up or block navigation via something like javascript, and that's where adblock is meant to work. There is nothing a browser can do about embedded apps, thus it would be difficult for client software to differentiate those. They are controlled by the web admin though, so your choices are to keep using the site w ads or to stop using it.
I completely agree, ALL IT jobs (might be over exaggerating) to the best of my knowledge are white collar jobs that require a 4 year degree or some snazzy experience. If you can't trust your IT person with working productively.........
howthefuckrugonnatrustthemwyouradminpassword???
I laugh at the ignorance of such websites, if I wanted to work for micky d's or best buy I'd qualify and they can not trust me all they want, but I wouldn't be able to destroy their worth in data with my f5 key.
What if I'm thinking rather than working away at my keyboard? I hear that's part of the job for IT too.
Funny stuff, really, this is why Ivy league MIB people are a plague on our society. Soft hands and dull minds.
I'm not sure what your talking about, just though I'd offer the dropbox advice after laughing for a while.
You can also look into setting up setting up an FTP client (you can do this form home) among about a million other things to share files remotely in 2011.
If you live in the states the question you gotta ask yourself is why are you storing data in the cloud that can be subpoenaed, fraudulent accounting? Fake merchandise sails? Child pornography?
You'll find there's not a lot of symphathy for things like that in this world, and the difference becomes based on location. If you live in the states, whether you get a cloud solution or not, you will be raided and your data seized, even if it's your mom's basement.
If you live outside the states and your doing this, then
a. on the cloud the US government will seize you
b. if your data is offshore, the US has to negotiate with your government
Thus the concern for offshore companies, they have nowhere to go if they are to be subpoenaed, US companies are f'ed either way.
Besides the point, the question to ask with cloud computing is "how much is my data worth" and how much will I save in the cloud, I feel it hasn't taken off like people thought it would because of this, the savings aren't as valuable as the data, and of course the data being compromised by a cloud based solution is a risk many sys admins don't see a return on. It might make more sense for start ups, but for established IT firms, it becomes a bit of a silly idea when all their stuff already works, it's like adding a bill to the IT expense chart for no practical reason I can see.
They work via the windows print screen command and a timer more or less. They aren't really used for anything else because nobody consents to such software willingly. If your looking to slack off work and do something else while on the clock ya you may need a second computer, since something like a vm wouldn't defeat a screen shot grabber. Otherwise if your just ensuring your employer can't snoop on you in off hours or on lunch breaks, dual booting solves that problem easy.
Damn, I'm torn between calling you a dumbfag or a prophet :P

So it's not because N. Korea is trying to pick a fight?
An economic collapse later?

As great as it sounds to start populating Mars, I haven't heard a whole lot on the economics of it, why would anybody want to?

The cloud is pretty well defined

Or dual boot???
In my case since I run an older SSD and space is limited, I'd boot my dev partition off a spinning disk.
