    I'm not saying his general point is wrong, I'm saying he's fearmongering by over exaggerating the actual law's penalties for texting (speed ticket grade) in which he is offensively wrong.

    And.. you don't really understand the difference between a DUI and a speeding ticket do you? Your rights are quite different in each respective scenario.

    Putting texting in the same category as DUIs is equally ignorant and stupid.

    And that's only if he has court admissible probable cause to believe that cell phone usage was a factor.

    My counter proposal: Sen. James Holzapfel drives to every single crash scene in New Jersey and personally apologies to the people who crashed for trying to introduce such a law and personally ensures their cell phones are dirt free and sparkly, replacing any broken ones.

    Anyways, it makes sense that air quality is worse in areas with less trees leading to higher rates of lung disease, but we didn't need this study to affirm that. Just drive in a major city on a hot afternoon and check out the smog.

    These are desktop models, server schematics don't really apply...

    You're right on that a single fan can go out and cause the system to overheat and then shutdown, but I'll even give credit here to apple to not being stupid enough not to use a smart fan as their only fan. This is also part of the reason why I think a replacement would be expensive for a fan.

    You're right, they write a lot about the fan's "intelligent" design, its one of those things that remains to be seen on implementation. Of course a replacement fan, assuming its replaceable will run at least $50.

    Whether they use existing technology or not, cognitive abilities, and self-learning (AI) have been tried and side-lined by far more developed countries.

    If they create a robot army in 5 years... my money's on it'd get picked apart by the most basic of current drone technology.

    1. Create chassis w wheels.
    2. Mount weapons.
    3. ??? Develop AI. or... use a remote control.

    All in the span of a decade... they have no idea.

    Maybe this project can serve as a funding guise for stabilizing their electrical grid, can't imagine it could take the toll of charging a robot army, much less powering a space heater at present.

    Well...

    let me put this in layman's and those who have taken a management course already know this:

    leadership OR management ability has little to do with book smarts.

    Based on the IT budget overflow, the lack of direction, and a lack of conceptual understanding all imply this guy is an inefficient manager, but the other suits don't want to confront him about it because of the possible drama, so they brought in a consultant to say it. Then again, I can fully see the flip-side from the details given and that's the consultant doesn't understand the difference between a techie and a manager.

    Also, it seems that the IPv4 address shortage has been put on the back burner. I don't feel like doing the research but somehow I feel its not as big of an issue as people thought it would be.

    Now, I want to make it real clear that I've been asked for years of experience dozens of times, but... never for years of corporate experience, my point is experience is experience to a recruiter, corporate, dev shop, or even work study. I'm not doubting the existence of such a practice either, HR has been known to ask some stupid shit, but just like I don't buy volcano insurance, it's not worth factoring only your corporate experience, always give the full number of years of any experience in IT.
