Can't the CO2 just escape through the holes made to extract the fuel?
On a less serious note, those fossil fuel guys are planning this because they know that years from now we'll need that carbon and they can charge us to have them drill it back up again.
Maybe, but if the argument is that Disney made bad 2D animated movies at one time, I want it pointed out that they also made good 2D animated movies during roughly the same period.
(Note: should be "advisor" rather than "consultant," whatever difference that makes.)
I don't think he has ever worked as a scientist or engineer. I do believe he has a lot of computer experience, however. Yeah, I can't tell you what he's doing to earn a pay check. I merely mention it because I'm one of many people on slashdot who enjoy Stephenson's work.
This is refreshing. He's not complaining that the crew tries to turn a buck by smuggling live cattle or that people in this future apparently still use electrical signals carried by wires strung along poles. No, that would be too easy. He's complaining that the Mal and Wash don't spend enough time in Astrometrics, charting just the right path through Federal Space.
I can see what you're saying. I guess I've had reasonably good experiences on Foundation and Midship objective games. On the bigger, more unwieldy maps (here I'm thinking of Coagulation and Colossus) if you die you usually respawn to far away to make a difference.
My gamertag is I Have No Mouth, if you're looking for another Friend or if you want to practice objective games on those maps you dislike.
Halfway to anywhere in the solar system, not galaxy.

Yeah, I did know that and I'm looking forward to hearing her voice in the role. Too bad it's such a small part (I'm assuming).

that dosen't make anything the gp posted less true.
Unless you count his comparison of the human digestive tract to those of certain vegetarian mammals.
(Yes, I'm aware that no one will ever read this.)

Heh, that's the first thing that's ever gone wrong.
Neal Stephenson (Snow Crash, The Diamond Age, The Baroque Cycle, etc.) has taken a part-time job as a consultant for Blue Origins.
Nothing could possiblie go wrong.
On the other hand, look at some of the wonderful movies they produce:
Both "Lilo and Stitch" and "The Emperor's New Groove" are hilarious and original, not to mention beautifully animated.
As soon as they figure out how to activate one of the Installations.
Read Cecil's take.
See the difference?
Hm. No. Let me punch this into my calculator and get back to you.
It sounds like an undisclosed feature, not a flaw.
"Thief" is not the preferred nomenclature. "Rogue," please.
But what chemical isn't going to give you problems if you make the dose high enough?
I'm a little concerned that it might read: "WE APOLOGIZE FOR THE INCONVENIENCE."
... keep makin' jokes. That'll win the war.
So are the stairs.
Then what was it exactly that you thought the show needed? It seemed perfectly consistent to me. Were you looking for maps, timelines, what?

Right with you, buddy, oh yeah.
Develop a mind wipe ray??
You mean the revolver, sir?

How did he get out of that with one cut anyway?
My love of objective games on small maps like Warlock or Midship still cannot be described in words suitable for a public forum however.
Wait, because you love them so much or so little? Whichever one, please explain why.
