I hope that they have a better animation than that of the cave troll in the Lord of the Rings.
It's movements were disapointing. (But most of the rest was ok)

Well, you could hack FlightGear. It's a GLPed flight sim. With accurate physics.
Oh, and adding a environment like that on the Mars would take only a few lines. Generating the (accurate) Mars scenery is also trivial, but takes a bit longer untill all the data is passed through TerraGear...
Is it not ironic that the current (not Nazi) German government is adopting some of the mechanisms that the Nazi government of the
past used (and perhaps introduced) to promote their way of life and "discourage" others? Maybe they can bring back the
concentration camps for the hate mongers. And the people might be inclined to accept that as long as it is just for the hate mongers.
No, the Nazis didn't invent the concentration camps. The British can claim that for them (-> Africa).
Assuming we would bring back the concentration camp - we'd still have a problem: We don't have the death penalty (and I'm very proud for that! Any country that kills its own people should be *very* quiet when it comes to being moralic)
Oh, and the Holocaust was very bad and anything similar (even on a smal scale) should never happen again. But even there we weren't the firts ones (have a look at the natives everywhere where the colonialization powers came to. E.g. America or Australia)
Ah, and once I've seen a german music video (10 kleine Jaegermeister) on german MTV. It's painted like a ordinary (disney) cartoon - but there were some things censored (e.g. breasts) by adding a black rectangle. (On VIVA it was showing in uncensored version)
That is better than censoring hate speech that's trying to opress democracy, isn't it?
So, please, check your arguments first. Then write.

PS: I'm also thinking that the state of NRW is stupid by acting like that. But that's thankfully not the olny state in Germany.
Apart from your language there's an other problem: when they want my DNA it's not unlikely that they want to modify it. E.g. to produce some sort of medicine.
The GPL states now, that *everybody* is allowed to use the modified DNA. So everybody can produce the medicine and sell it with an sensible price tag - and not an artificially increased one as a big pharmaceutic company - that has the only right on the medicine - would do.
Just imagine a company would find the medicine agains AIDS.
They'd sell it for good money in the industrialized countries. But the poor suckers in Africa who suffer most won't be able to afford it. That's what I want to avoid. The way doesn't matter. Even if it's a BSD licence instead of a GPL license...
FlightGear supplies a very good framework that could easily be turned into an combat simulator. It even has already military aircrafts. And they are getting more. E.g. a F15 will come soon.
The only thing left to turn FG into a combat simulator would be to add the weapons as MultiPlay does already work. Or you could add an AI if you don't want to play over the internet...
There's already two GPLed Office Suites around: StarOffice (soon GPL but already functional) and KOffice (already GPL but not fully functional - yet, but it'll be soon)
Get this months IEEE Spectrum issue.
German readers can get a copy of the c't magazine, 2 or 3 editions ago.
They had a very good summary.
Animal studies where they were subjected to radiation of the frequency and modulation of cell phone also yielded no correlation
between cell phone usage and cancer.
Yup that's known and also can be found in the article.
But the very long term effects aren't known so far as the mobile phones are too new.
What we know so far ist that the thermal effects (i.e. that, what's happeneing in a microwave) are nearly neglectable. *But* there are other effects, like a reduced calcium transport (shown on simple cells). And we don't know the long term effects of that one (it might be harmless or it might be harmfull - we don't know).
When this device sends its data it'll be even worse than a mobile phone as the radiation is generated inside the body.
I don't want to nuke myself!
Disclaimer: I know that there aren't any proofen side effects of cell phone radiation (exept the minimal temperature increase of 0.1 deg C) - but, hey, there's also no proof that it is harmless!
Hm, I thought that the next generation of 3d cards (e.g. the NV20) could accelerate such organic 'primitives' as they could do the necessary tesselation directly in the hardware.
This would actually give a good performance boost as you could reduce the data on the AGP bus quite a lot ('compressed geometry')
Esp. doesn't DirectX 8 support that kind of stuff? Even if you don't like DirectX (I also prefer OpenGL) it makes the standards...
Such an open case can be extremely annoying - for you and your neighbour.
A computer produces an huge amount of electromagnetical radiation and an open unshielded case can't stop it. You can have quite a lot of fun watching TV close to such a computer.
But also any other device that produces electromagnectic ration (e.g. a cell phone) may cause trouble.
I've even heared reports that HDDs were making funny noises when a mobile phone was lying on the top of the case (a proper one)...
Why should anyone pick LZW?! There's zlib / gzip, they're patent-free, browsers seem to support unpacking them, so no problem
at all.
Oh forgive me my humble question: but how?
I've written a little tool that creates huge SVG files:-(. I even had to use paths instead of polygons just to make it smaller (the files do only cosist out of triangles).
My aim would be to beat PDF in size...
One of the tools he's using is the FlightGear flight simulator.

Well, we could compare today with the space odysee from the movie "Odysee 2001" (sp?).
At least today is not *that* bad.

Can someone help me to set up an GLP like license that I can put my DNA under?
Every doc or person that wants some of my cells or DNA has to agree....
