    Why do you think they got all those MCSE out there ?

    They pay hard $$$ mostly every year to M$, and their employer can then waist money on those problems.

    And Microsoft won't even have to spend on all those problems...

    Some guy out there have his Outlook wronly configured.

    I was infected, and the virus sent itself to MANY people... with a wrong email addresse in the FROM...

    not his address, but MINE. dammit...

    I'm now swimming in spam AND auto-reply from Email Scanning software and people telling me that i'm infected...

    So, don't think your safe, even if you're running Linux as I am !

    I've got the one with a ordinary cdrom and not a DVD.

    I'm running RH 7.1 with Linux 2.4.7
    The winmodem *works*, the soundcard works with
    the ALSA drivers. Resolution is 1024x768 on LCD as on external screen. Internal Network card is also working well with the Tulip driver.

    And the best is that this machine is cheap !

    ps.: The only problem is that I should not reboot but do a shutdown if I want to reboot; The kernel seems to hang when detecting the PCI stuff after a reboot.

    Anyways, check this one, I'm sure you won't regret it !

    Wich seems to be able to detect fires:

    I've got a nomad 1 64Mb... I tried to run the software under Wine, but the damn thing is using a VXD to access the parallel port ;-(

    So I was not able to intercept the data under windows...

    Does anyone know how I could intercept the data stream ? Any information on the Nomad I ? (I know that it is just a repackaged YEPP).

    I *really* want to transfert files under Linux... But Creative seems to be totals assholes; They said on the newsgroups that they where working on something for linux, but we've got nothing...

    Ya ok, you're right.

    So imagine that there is 100 millions computers running Win 2000.

    By your calculations, Windows 2000 by example, has
    2000 * 100000000 bugs.

    hmmm.... maybe you're right after all ;-)

    Is there a way to get helix's updater to install the rpms with a --nodeps option ?

    Because I installed XFree 4 (tar.gz, not rpm) and a couple of things like this (gtk, glib) I must download by hand and install by hand helix's rpms.

    I know we should not use the --nodeps, but when you know what you do, it would be cool to have that option ;-)

    I worked last year on SCO RMCOBOl, for the y2k problem;

    Using the ibcs2 (or something like that) module under linux, you can exucute SCO programs, and RMCOBOL was working without a problem.

    Actually the light speed is ~ 300,000 km/s (in empty space), not 186,000 km/s; maybe you're refering to another system? ;-) (Metric, etc.)

    If i'm understanding the new features, It means that we will be able to have hardware acceleration in a window, and not only when running applications in full screen... Yes?

    If yes, do I need to change something regarding my mesa directory? And when I compile some opengl programs?

    What should I do to be sure to get the most of XFree86 4.0?

    Actually, i'm running RH 6.0 with Mesa 3.1, 3dfx drivers and glide2 (Mesa was compiled, no rpms).

    I'm actually (trying) to build this on my box, but would prefer binaries! ;-)

    It as to work; Imagine using a steganographic file system (there is one for linux, SFS).

    You hide your sensitive data with one key.
    You hide your porn with another key. ;-)

    You just give them the second key; There is no
    proof that there is more than one encrypted content" on your file system.

    With SFS, there will mostly always be some random data that cannot be decrypted, but they cannot be sure of it being encrypted or random junk.

    They would have to accept the fact that they can't
    "decrypt" all your "random" data.
