You think that's not a real thing? I am completely not making this shit up. There's a city in upper Michigan that used to be an army air base of some sort. It's like a giant hole cut out of thick pine trees. We were driving and then all of a sudden it turns from forest mountain to creepy old school Fallout New Vegas shit, lol. Guess who lives there? It's a government experiment where they ship in mentally disturbed people, ex-cons, and tons of people on perpetual government assistance there and give them government semi-sponsored jobs and stuff. You basically feel like you need a weapon at all times. We had to do a short contract project up there and it was like the damn circus moved into town and stayed, lol. Just imagine Walmart at 1:00 in the morning times 100 and living in one place with zero normal people. So yeah, it happens.

People in the 10th century fucking wish they could teleport their castle into another dimension that nobody else could get into. Then nobody could break in and steal anything. Fast forward to now. Get 2 routers, 2 servers, pairs of 2 PCs, and one modem. TADA! You've got a LAN #2 (like a VLAN except real and physically separated) and you put all your game and console development data on the separated one. Then use your other LAN for internet access. Every desk gets 2 PCs and the internet and e-mail cruiser can be a pentium G series chip with a 60GB SSD so really the extra costs aren't insane. Not one single person in the entire world could hack into network #2 because they never ever touch. Simple!

I worked at a hospital and the two head IT managers were stuck in floppy disk and DOS land. They had no idea what modern technology even was or how it worked let alone why it should be used by us. Some of their comments were so inaccurate and misinformed, I didn't even know how to respond. Now I'm 25 and I'm the head IT manager at a new company. Shocker, we're operating flawlessly and under budget.
The real problem is HR. They promote someone based on how many years they've been there. That's great for other departments like Shipping and Receiving or Marketing but for IT, the most qualified and informed person needs to be driving that ship.

That totally reminds me. At any given time there are well over a million people on Black Ops 2 on Xbox from what I hear. On the PC it's 4000. You basically can barely find a game anymore. The reason? MW3 for the PC was a fucking joke. They didn't do shit about security, just did a low budget garbage port. The customers never forgave them. So it's realistic to assume the same will happen to Xbox One.

In theory, charges would have been brought if there was any evidence that you were involved so I guess that means you get away with it due to lack of evidence or something. I dunno. Systemax (aka Tiger Direct and Infotel) gave me 5% off at my volume so gooooodbye Newegg. They aren't seeing my $50,000 in inventory and custom build purchases anymore.

If it's a vendor that ups the price, same deal, in that I just don't carry them. For example, OCZ Vertex 4 SSDs. They were $80-100 all the time. Then suddenly their press release says they're done "being competitive" and guess what, I ordered zero after that when they hit $140-150. Now I sell Samsung 840's and Kingston Hyper X 3K's.
I think Amazon should have done the same. None of this "oh but I like them and we want to do business with them and want money." You have to have an iron fist until the company gets a clue. OCZ is now on the verge of bankruptcy. Clue much? You would think, but no, same old prices.

It's such an utter disaster, they might as well just sell their Xbox line to Sony for $0 because that's what they're effectively doing. Who the hell is going to buy a device that spies on you with a camera and mic 24/7 even when it's turned off, records your apparent moods, doesn't play movies when too many people are in the room, doesn't play used games easily, and doesn't offer anything of value over the previous Xbox. I guarantee you it won't sell more than 1 million units ever.

What MS needs to do is cancel Windows 8.1, make 8.1 or 9 not suck, and release it. Then concentrate on a separate mobile OS or just say fuck it and develop office 2013 for Android and iOS. That'll make them some money.
