  1. The end on Zero Day Hole In Samsung Smart TVs Could Have TV Watching You · · Score: 0

Well, that's the end of that pointless, stupid feature if they ever want to sell another TV again. If you want to watch TV, watch TV. If you want to web chat on skype and stuff, get a real computer. That actually was the solution the whole, Samsung's marketing department just didn't know it apparently.

  2. Re:doesn't work in most cases on Engineers Use Electrical Hum To Fight Crime · · Score: 1

Oh yeah, I totally knew that and forgot. That's why I hate noise gate filters and set them at like 20dB because they always tend to cut off the end of what anyone says and their voice fades out and makes the recording sound noisy and low quality when compared repeatedly to the perfectly blank quiet areas.

  3. doesn't work in most cases on Engineers Use Electrical Hum To Fight Crime · · Score: 4, Interesting

Most respectable recordings eliminate these hums by adding a realtime filter called a "noise gate" that eliminates all sounds of any frequency under XX decibels (usually 20-40). That and most eliminate all noises under XX Hertz (usually also 40) which gets rid of some hums without ruining human voices.

This is the free market in action. Would you rather the White House block the sale?

I'd rather the White House not give them $250M in taxpayer money in the first place. How exactly was that free market in action?

To go even further with that point, it's not the free market in action any more, as they already ruined that. Free market means if your management is all idiots and your manufacturing process sucks and your expenses are out of control and your downline is basically only 2 customers, you will fail. With $250 mil dropped in your lap, free market "survival of the fittest" goes away but all those problems don't go away. It just means you fail later, with more money because your company still sucks. Yes, that kind of grant accelerates what would take 10 years to build up but it has no way of knowing if the company would have succeeded, given enough time.

The end conclusion of that story was obviously written by someone who doesn't know much about the situation. Yes, a 12 pack of hurricane Sandies won't level Nebraska but a tiny shift like that with droughts and floods and higher temps will kill off so many species of fish, amphibians, coral, birds, etc that it will disrupt the entire animal kingdom. That won't be so good for the world. You'll be sitting there enjoying your lovely new weather and suddenly you can't buy tuna and the prices in the seafood section of the deli triple.

Once Tradehill was shut down by the state of California and the Feds based on BSA regulations, MTGox took over as the ultimate super power exchange. They're based in Japan and don't give a damn if they're part of some...whatever the hell this is. So in reality, I absolutely guarantee you with complete certainty that this exchange did it as a publicity stunt to try and convince people it has a better reputation and to use it instead.

  14. Re:Uh, nice try on Stay Home When You're Sick! · · Score: 0, Troll

Well, at my company, if someone is sick they could lose a $100,000 contract by missing a meeting with a customer so nobody gives a damn if you're sick, lol. Another salesman could easily fill in but that'd steal their commission so that's strictly forbidden. I have a different way of dealing with this and I haven't been sick for several years. First, after a while after I've touched a lot of stuff out in the general public, I wash my hands. You know, stuff like doorknobs and gas station pumps and shopping carts.
Second, I don't touch my face or nose or mouth while my hands are "under quarantine" lol.
Third, if I start to feel an illness coming on that's respiratory-based, I immediately take a ton of direct, localized zinc (so not a pill) and stay away from acidic foods or drinks so it doesn't oxidize and it instantly prevents germs from attaching to the cells along the mucous membranes of my nose. Keep re-zincing until my T-cells form to combat the now idle viruses and it's like a free vaccination. If you're going to call me a homeopathic hippie, you might want to read the high profile report (covered on 20/20) that stated zinc was found to reduce the lifetime of a cold by 3x. Really it just cures/prevents it outright. Shortly after that report was released, all major US cities sold completely out of zinc supplements.

They won't have money to manufacture their products in America because they lost too much money from all that litigation that Cook now hates. Hilarious!

It is impossible for bitcoin production to exceed 25 BTC per 10 minutes on average. That's how it works. It's not a direct MH/s to money ratio.
