    The risk of distilling homebrew is greatly exaggerated (for obvious reasons). If you can drink it before distillation, you have to really mess up your process to get toxins afterwards.

    It is a feature

    If you ask for data to be transported via ftp, smb, irc, or whatever protocol you need, that's what firefox does. The fact that some IRC servers don't want large amounts of automatically generated data but still fail to block it is not a firefox bug.

    I find it surprising that the auhors seem to think that Darwinian selection only happens to organisms, but not to the genes that are being spliced.
    Perhaps the only paradigm they need to shift is their misconception of what exactly evolves in evolution.

    Away from paradigms and towards an evolutionary theory of the development of science.
    Btw, Horizontal gene transfer is only different from 'standard' evolution if you think all evolution occurs at the organism level instead of at the gene level.
    I could recommend an excellent book on that subject.

    Two thoughts on that: When Saab isn't required to buy substandard GM gear at inflated prices it may turn out to be profitable yet.
    And obviously SAAB doesn't need to be profitable, if they manage to restore a bit of the brands credibility, that in itself will increase the share value enough to sell it back to GM with a profit.

    The radiocativity of rocks can easily be measured, so the heat production is clear. The discussion how relevant the contribution of each rock is for the whole heat budget is more complicated however.

    Everybody in the field knows that DNA mutation rates need not be uniform, so the alleged 'faith' only exists in your imagination.
