Is IP Property?

What a lot of people who take this kind of position often don't realize is the fact that treating IP as property, and protecting peoples' rights to those properties, is what provides the motivation for many of people to be so creative and to pour themselves into their work.
Yeah, that eternal copyright protection is sure motivating Elvis to write and sing more songs!
However, for a while, the CHP (CA Highway patrol) bought and certfied Mustangs, so as to be able to keep up with some of the higher powered cars on the freeways.
This means that when Judge Kimball goes back to review the rulings that defined the AFC test, so that he can be sure to apply it correctly, he'll be reading Davis' name, Davis' ideas and probably even some of Davis' words.
They'll discredit him the same way that they discredit those who were present and actually signed the IBM license. "We know what he meant better than he does!"
The problem is not the Electoral College per se, but the "Winner Take All" system that most states use to allocate their electors. If it was divided up a bit better it would spread it around.
Example: Under the Constitution, each state is allocated one elector for each Representative and each Senator. Allocate electors by Congressional districts (i.e. for each district, send the elector for the candidate that won said district), plus two winner take all for the whole state.
Then, if you're a Republican in CA or NY, you have a much better chance of "having your vote count".
Oh yeah, I agree. I looked at this and just laughed my head off. I couldn't even modify it because it was third-party certified, and this was for a DoD project.
And this was in code for mission critical stuff too. There was a lot of other crap there... I wrote up about 7 problem reports and routed them to the developers contact, the program office, my management, etc...
"Mr. Congressman, here's a briefcase full of campaign contributions. Those Evil Content Pirates(tm) are costing us even MORE money! Please fix it for us."
Given the context, I'm assuming "banned" is, "Little Johnny got this book about [shudder]WITCHCRAFT[/shudder] off your school bookshelves! What are you going to do about it?"
In the last general election (not counting the CA Recall), we had something like 15 different races (Gov, Lt. Gov, AG, Sec. State, various other state wide offices, congressional offices, local offices), plus about 12 different initiatives.
Separate ballots for each one would be a logistical nightmare.

Let's launch from Vandenberg! I don't know what it would take to refurb the Shuttle facilities there, though.
Advantages: easy launch into polar orbit. Close to Edwards and Palmdale.
Disadvantages: Launch into west->east orbit goes over heavily populated areas instead of ocean.
It had the entire friggin' BIOS listing!

You forgot Duke Nukem Forever.
They have the best expert witnesses that blow SCO's out of the water
Yeah. I'm dying to see how SCOX will try to discredit Brian Kernighan. That should be fun to watch.
The old Infocom boxed game came with a pair of Joo-Jaglan Peril Sensitive Sunglasses!
VC-1 is *PATENTED*. There are no free speech issues here, unfortunately, unlike DeCSS.
Alan Shepard flew into space on an Atlas D
No, Shepard and Grissom flew into space on a Redstone.
Glenn, Carpenter, Schirra, and Cooper flew on Atlas D's.
I grew up just down the street from the Motion Picture Hospital. My high school band used to play at the annual Wheelchair Parade.
It's for real.
Actually, he did once... on the planet with Vaal.

Shit. That should have been:
while (strncmp(s," ",1) == 0)
s++;
Embedded code seen in actual system:
//...
char *s;
while (strncmp(s," ") == 0)
s++;
Yeah, there would be changes... in copyright law.

So the money is already spent.
Whoopee. That's three.
