I live in CA. There's not a snowball's chance in hell that the state will go anywhere but to Kerry. So why would I be "throwing away my vote" by voting for Badnarik?
Also, by the "Throw Away Your Vote" logic, unless you vote for the guy who actually winds up becoming President (whoever it may be), you've essentially "thrown away your vote", because you voted for the loser.
I am guessing that SCO will say, "ain't so!" and then they will ask for time to refute Randall's findings and perhaps come up with an expert witness of their own that finds thousands of "matches.
You forgot the part where they also ask (again!) for every internal iteration of every file used in AIX and Dynix.
SCO requsting IBM give a delay to a deadline for filing a delay request. And if IBM does not agree to SCO's request to delay the deadline for filing their delay request then SCO is threatening to go to the judge to file a request to delay the deadline for filing a request for a delay.
Judge Wells initially set a deadline of next February for the discovery phase of the suit to be complete. Until and unless that deadline would need to move, I think he'll let SCO continue to litigate anything and everything they want.
Just a note. Judge Wells is a she. Magistrate Judge Brooke Wells.
Howver, when it goes to the House, there aren't 435 votes, as I understand it. Instead, there are 50 votes, with each State's delegation receiving one vote.
Or so the Germans would have us think.
You misspelled "Setec".
Too Many Secrets = Setec Astronomy
No. It's a physical process, which is what patents are actually supposed to be used for.
It's not an "idea" like, "a means of making money by filing stupid patents".
+1 good Futurama Reference
Unless it's merely pining for the fjords!
<pedantic>yes I know its supposed to be a parrot</pedantic>
HAL has been in Windows since NT :)
Personally, I suspect (and having watched a documentary, suspect even more) that the makers didn't know what was happening in 2001;
No, Clarke knew what was going on. See The Lost Worlds of 2001, which is essentially a "Making Of..." book.
I made the same point last night.

Oh man! I used to have one of those!!! 1973 or so.
To be honest, I find analog nicer, because it allows "at-a-glance" reading.
Remember when digital dashboards were all the rage coming from Detroit? The speedometer was a 2 number LED display.
Now, most dashes are analog, and any digital ones *simulate* an analog dash.
I believe it was one of the puzzles that Bob Morris showed to Cliff Stoll. See "The Cuckoo's Egg".
Reminds me of the very politically incorrect bumper sticker from the early '80s.
NUKE THE GAY WHALES FOR JESUS!
This is why IBM did not buy out SCOX when the whole fiaSCO started.
Sorry, dude, but Xyzzy goes WAAAY back before Minesweeper. It was the magic word to the original ADVENT (Crystal Cave).
We're not boycotting the MPAA on Sundays.
I loved my old IBM AT-339. And of course, the Model-M keyboard that came with it!

The real info is here.
'Sokay. Like I said, no offense taken.
I know you were joking, and that you had absolutely know way of knowing, but my father died from a stroke last week.
No offense taken, though.

My brain hurts!

Note: I'm Jewish.
That said, I didn't know why he never used it. I simply brought that up as a hypothetical possibility.
Not sure why he didn't use it, but it may have to do with his own personal experience from WWI. Hitler was the victim of a gas attack during WWI.
Yes. Well, until the descendants of Lur of Omicron Persei 8 show up and claim prior art.
We'll just eat them. Popplers are delicious!
