    Complete with the links to the "developers" video and the Slashdot-type FUD ("VISTA UAC HAS HOLES OMFG!!!") articles. Just like that "BadVista" thing from the FSF, any person who is responsible for IT/Software strategy at a company would dismiss this as another wack job from the people who call Microsoft "M$" and like to claim that XP crashes every 10 minutes.

    I assume that these "campaigns" are targeted at people who might be exposed to Ballmer's FUD. Otherwise what's the point?

    Fighting FUD with more FUD really does not work. Like a bar brawl where the winner is usually the first person who lands a punch, FUD only works when you use it preemptively. The "let me tell you all this made up bullshit about Microsoft, and here's a video all my friends think is funnay!" is invariable useless. People like Ballmer understand this.

    Show people the facts and they'll react. Resort to character assasination and lame humour and they'll conclude you are a desperate wanker with an agenda.

    Awwww. Well, when you're done FUD'ing and exercising your creative selective quoting, I'd like to see lots of stories about "M$" suing schools. Something that happened this decade will do nicely. After you provide us with some, a few links to the other companies that make up the BSA would be nice as well. Yes? Don't use so many weasel phrases though. It just makes you look dumber than you are.

    BTW - I love how you highlighted the "software that has found its way into classrooms" part. I really enjoy seeing people like you invalidate their own feeble arguments.

    Read closely flocktard, they "defended" the "prosecution" simply by stating that whatever came on those computers initially was legal. Microsoft was NOT involved in any lawsuits or prosecution. None.

    It's OK if you get your panties in a bunch when you see these stories. Really. But wearing down your #4 key to do your hilarious "M$" thing and trying to desperately spin your "OMFG IS TEH EVILZ" bull is just not going to work. Save it for when you actually have a point to make. Microsoft does plenty of bad things.

    Let's think about this, OK? Stay with me here. If Apple "unilaterally" dropped DRM then... what would happen? I'll tell you: they would have no music to sell at all. None. At least no music of the type that "matters" to the people who have paid for billions of downloads on iTMS. I.e., Britney Spears and 50 Cent or whatever. The recording and distribution companies (*AA) would drop their license with uncommon alacrity, assuming Apple actually wanted to expose themselves to copyright infringement to begin with.

    Does that make sense?

    I've taken computers from 2.2 to 2.6 with very few problems

    Oh, I thought you said everything was "perfect" and much better than the "M$ shit". Well, it's certainly not, not by a long shot. Of course by making thse claims you force people to go into details of how a kernel upgrade might fail, which is not exactly a popular theme around here. I learned early that the best way to "upgrade" Linux was to just backup ~/ and do a clean install. Which is no different from Windows.
