I started using Linux with RedHat and later moved on to Debian, just because I had a slow connection and the Debian CDs had more stuff on 'em. Debian 2.0 was great, but as soon as 2.1 came around, my computer was filled with redundant files, several different versions of the same libraries, and depend conflicts everywhere. Eventually I gave up on using the packaged system and stuck to compiling everything myself.
Information on what has actually been achieve can be found by reading Constellation 3D's website. Constellation 3D is the company that actually develops the discs.
Here is a choice section that tells what has actually been achieved:
3.1.4) Results 10 layer disks with CD density have been demonstrated (650 Mbyte per layer). The above mentioned requirements have been fulfilled:
650 nm laser, 680 nm peak of the fluorescent light.
Stable media, no degradation during read-out.
The conversion efficiency is more than 90%.
The time response is approximately one nanosecond.
The saturation level is with 1MW/cm2, above the read power intensity.
In a disk player device demonstrated in Israel on 4 October 1999, digital audio was played using different content from each of the layers. The signal to noise ratio SNR was better than 36 Db (across a bandwidth of 1.5 MHz). The jitter was typically less than 30nsec (i.e., within CD specs).
Learn to type and speak English, and then wait 'til you're past 12 to support our cause. It will be much better that way. Maybe by then you will realize that this sort of unsupported badmouthing hurts us more than it hurts MS. If people like you keep it up, we'll start looking like Mac users.
Get Debian. Set up a cron job that runs apt-get update;apt-get upgrade every week. All your packages updated automatically with minimal effort on your part.

Why not just add an extra digit to the front of the area codes/local numbers, with a single digit, for example, 2, added to all existing numbers. So, (213) 673-4332 would become (213) 2-673-4332 Poof.. ten times the numbers, no need to cause painful area code switches. Sure, some databases and other software might need some work, but this is definatly easier than trying to call an old number somewhere across the country whose town you don't know.
Well, it is true that Linux users tend to generally be better computer users than Windows users-- they almost always are. However, from my experience, I have/never/ had linux crash in the two years that I've been consistantly using it. And it's not often that I get through a day without having Windows NT crash or break on me.
Obviously you don't understand what we're here for. We don't like Microsoft's products not only because they are bug riddled filth that crash all the time, but because using them makes you feel like a moron. I don't need a 'wizard' to help set up my web server for me, thank you very much...../configure ; make ; make install ; apachectl start... In addition to that, why would we help debug a product that we will still be forced to pay an exorbitant amount for when it is obviously inferior as a server OS.
Does it seem suspicious to anyone that Microsoft's 'router' has failed several times in one day? Routers don't do that. Thunderstorms? What ever happened to their UPSes + generators.. It's not like Microsoft can't afford them or anything. Also, why bother trying this? They will log all of our attempts, and anything they find will work against us having a w2kNuke to use on those dumbasses that try to connect to our Linux computers with Back Orifice.
You can use an IR link on a TI calculator to simulate a remote control. Never tried it, but sounds pretty neat.

Well yea... Give it to Blizzard. They get their mac ports out 2 years late. God knows how long a linux port would take them..
Amen!
Unleash the mechanical Richard Simmons!
I believe the spelling in Guenter Blobel.
