Aha, ok that makes sense. I had to look up exactly how pi is calculated with a computer to understand this. Makes perfect sense that the last part of the decimal is not necessarily accurate, but as you drill down further and further you will get more precise results.
in agreement except perhaps for a few trailing digits at the end
What the hell does that mean? There is no "end" do pi. And if there is some disagreements on some of the digits, then one of the computers obviously did not perform flawlessly.
Lets look at "average speed". Today air and high-speed train travel is more accessible to more people than in any point in history. We even have tourists in space (or at least on sub-orbital flights). So I would say the collective speed of the human race has only gone up.
With more efficiency, we can get even more people up in the air and moving fast.
Age of speed is just starting. Look at the digital network speeds compared to 5 or 10 years ago. Concorde is not fast enough, when I can conference around the world instantly. SR-71? Mach 3+ is not fast enough when an satellite can take a picture and beam it down in realtime.
Going to the Moon? Ok, well you got me on that one.
The DRM horror stories have chased me away from the Dragon Age series. Instead I went to GOG.com and bought the full Baldur's Gate II collection. I own it on a bunch of cds (somewhere); but for 10 bucks I get the classic gameplay with no DRM, not even a cd check, and online download and installation.
Let's all remember how much we hated XP when it came out, and then how much we wanted Windows 7 to be XP when it came out.
But only because everyone spent time configuring the settings to make XP look like Win2k.
I got one too from soe.innovyx.net. I assume they got my email address from the account hack and are sending out phish emails.
Nice try assholes. I will be resetting my credit card any how. And fat chance of SOE ever getting any payment from me again.

Would HAVE. </grammarnazi>
And if I had some mod points you would have some too.
Of the -1 Off Topic variety. :)
Also, pray I don't alter it more.
(See what I did there?)
Crap, you are right. I couldn't remember the exact quote so I looked it up online. Apparently I failed.
I bet this guy sold it to Steve.
Till the Ark of the Covenant turns up that prior art can't be proven.
We have top people looking into it. Top people
Who are we saving Wales from?
I had the same problem. Did you click on the site, then go back to get the block link?
You can also explicitly block domains if you log into a google account and go to settings.
Well that is a downright stupid implementation. Why should i have to go to a site I know I hate in order to get it blocked?
... It would be cool to go off of steam.
I see what you did there.
mod GP idiotic

"chipped in" implies a maority investment?
No, it implies they are playing golf.
Insects are attracted by light. Birds like insects. But then again, the insects would probably not hang around for to long..
Birds are like insects, hmm?
At all times must Citizens be afraid.
Here, this should explain it for you. Birthday Paradox
Because apparently, we're devolving into a nation of idiots.
No, it is proving evolution. Only bible thumpers are allowed to be elected, therefore we are breeding better bible thumpers.
No, they plan to use the intergalactic hyperdrive on the Daedalus.
When I look up and see the Moon, I see a large amount of energy that soon could be within Humanities reach.
What I want to know is where you learn to build fusion reactors in humanities class.
nor have they stopped contributing to culture.
Me thinks you have never seen an episode of Hannah Montana.
Contributing to the demise, is still contributing.
