Or pedestrians with hearing problems. We exist too.
Which is exactly why we should not be relying on sound or alarms or flashing lights to warn pedestrians. As a driver you are responsible. You must assume the other person is not aware of you at all unless they are looking directly at your car. And if the pedestrian is a child, you should just assume they are going to run out in front of you at any moment.
I drive a surprisingly quiet gas powered sports car, it goes from quiet to rather loud quite quickly, which can be rather fun. I have also failed to notice the car was already started when it was sitting idle with the radio on.:)
I have never been in an audience for a sitcom, but how do they do the audio for the audience for multiple takes? Presumably they would laugh more on the first take, but if they have to retake it several times, I think it would suck the funny out of the gag. Do they take the best "audience take" and add that in?
Also, if your show is not funny enough to make a live audience laugh, and you need a laugh track or an "applause sign", perhaps the show is not funny enough to go on air.:)
It will work well enough until NoScript becomes prevalent enough that sites will realize that all they need to do is host the advertising/tracking scripts on their own domain.
it is amusing though as it is the dirty advertising tactics and eyesore-design is what makes people block it so thoroughly.
On chrome a combination of ScriptSafe, Disconnect, and AdBlock works extremely well. Whitelisting the site I am trying to browse in ScriptSafe and whichever content delivery network it uses almost always gives me the content without advertisements.
Good point, the camera system would need to have a battery backup to be able to run for a few minutes with the vehicle completely unpowered. I do not recall seeing any with this capability.
It has nothing to do with the camera. Having a screen pointed at you will ruin your night vision. This will make it difficult to look out the front of the car if you are in a rural area. On highways I find it far easier to drive in areas without constant light pollution from overhead lights. They light up a little spot and screw your night vision so everything else is impossible to see.
Having a lit up screen inside the car would be an issue, I think. Obviously it would need automatic contrast/brightness control for light conditions, so perhaps it could adjust and not become a problem.
And what about obstructions? My rear windshield gets covered with mud or snow, I can flick on the rear wiper and see clearly out of it. What happens when mud or snow spatters over the camera lens?
The same thing that happens when your mirror or window gets dirty or covered with snow... you clean it off.
Don't get too carried away, this is all part of the free market process. As you say, Incumbents try to protect and conserve, new players try to innovate and liberalise. The fact that this condition exists means we live in a healthy free market. Sure innovator may not win every battle, but if yo mapped long or even medium term change then innovation, and the free market is winning.
Bullshit.
Telling me that politicians accepting bribes is just "part of the free market system" is absolute bullshit. The entire idea that innovators must outbribe the established corporations is not only untenable, but morally corrupt. Fuck you, and fuck your idea of a free market too.
And it is pretty much guaranteed hat someone is going to get one of these jars and suddenly develop some tummy ache and report directly to the lawyers.
From what I can tell, the major studios do not want to be in the content delivery business. I don't see an 'inevitable future' of the major studios streaming their own content. I think branded portals to the studio content, outsourced to a small number of content delivery companies, is more likely.
Yet they seem to not want anyone else in that business either. What they want is for us to go back to the 80's/90's with Blockbuster/Walmart renting/selling VHS/DVD.
For the prison-industrial complex the prisoners themselves are the final product. The government pays the industry to house them. This is why they lobby for 3-strikes laws that permanently lock up people for non-violent offenses. A life sentence is a guaranteed long-term investment for the industry.
(Also, who would have prisoners construct weapons?)

Earlier I posted that I would want an ironic sound; but no, this is much much better!
Mine will be the sound of a person saying "Vroom! Vroom!" every time I press the gas pedal down and "Screeeeetch!" every time I press the breaks.
Obviously the car would be soundproofed so I do not hear these.
Though if the news report mentions it is a dramatization or "sound added", I don't see a problem with it.
Nobody watching a movie expects it to be real. (Ok, no intelligent person...) People watching the news expect them to not make stuff up.

As someone that does not have an lcd screen in their car... I complain about them. Especially when I see someone watching TV instead of the road. :)
OLED might be the trick here, as they are much more viewable in various light conditions.
Nice, trotting out the "if you don't like my country, you can get out" argument when someone calls you on your bullshit.
Eventually...

Zoom lens causes a bigger blindspot. What you need is a fisheye wide angle lens.

Remind me to never drive on a highway anywhere near you. I am glad I never drive anywhere near California.

Hmmm, I wonder if there's any Abby/Penelope slash fic.
Invoking rule 34 causes it to happen.

What I envision is a sci-fi battle where Google laser beams are attempting to shoot down Facebook drones.

... all of them? Seriously the inclusion of a trained Shakespearian actor (Stewart) was the only saving grace of that branch-off of TOS.
All episodes after the first or second season when they started letting Patrick Stewart actually act.

Dammit, I knew I'd been doing it wrong! Here I'd been climbing the hungry and feeding the mountains. That explains the restraining order.
How does a mountain get a restraining order?
So books are weapons now?
I was with you up until the last two points.

for the life of me I can't figure out how to indent those code snippets properly here
Speaking of elegant code... proper and consistent formatting is almost as important as the functionality.
