"The offer is still on the table" means that if NO cancels their plan, they can still use the building. (I'm sure that the building is just about worthless to BellSouth, and they're trying to get PR mileage out of this. Nothing wrong with that per se, but it's not like they're passing out hookers n' blow here.) Just because BellSouth wishes to appear sympathetic doesn't mean you should let them snow you.
Horse shit. I blame the no-integrity lying sacks of monkey shit that will lie, cheat, and steal for their own short-term benefit, and then laugh at the consequences.
I am blameless, because I've done nothing wrong. They are to blame, because (even though they won't have to answer for their crimes) they have done wrong.
Well, gee, you're just a wealth of good feeling and joy aren't you? I'll gladly take cultural ignorance (the world is full of things of which I'm ignorant...which is why I asked you for an example, so I could edify myself). I'm just glad I'm not a prick.
"illegally detaining customers on pretense of shoplifting who tried to collect refunds"
If that happened, they should be prosecuted. I'm really curious to see what happens with that guy who tried to pay for his gear with $2 bills, and got arrested.
I have exactly the opposite experience. I use the fast forward, and I can hit the beginning of the show pretty darn accurately. With 30 second skip, I always had to ff or rew to get where I wanted to go. If I'm doing that, why bother with the skip?
Which one? The one where they say "Would you like to buy the extended warranty?" and I say "No, thank you." and they say "All right then! Your total is $XXX.XX." and I walk out with a new toy?
I don't care about the inexpensive channels that I never watch. I care about ESPN. I never, ever watch ESPN or any of its ilk, and it's the most expensive channel on the box.
Give me a discount for not taking ESPN, or throw me a couple other cheap channels instead of ESPN, and I'm a happy guy.
"Going electronic was the thing that was supposed to make voting uniform, easy, consistent, and fair, in all areas and for people of all stripes."
Way to fall for Diebold's press releases.
"You make it sound as if Diebold is, quite literally, out to rig elections. All it's out to do is protect its code."
Really? Do you speak for Diebold with more authority than its CEO, who said that he was "Committed To Helping Ohio Deliver Its Electoral Votes To The President Next Year"?
"Now, I'm NOT saying that is a good thing for a voting system!"

One order of magnitude==a factor of ten.

Breaking the law is not in and of itself immoral. It's easy to imagine a number of scenarios where to follow the law would be immoral.
Indeed: Stealing from a merchant (even a wealthy one) is both immoral and illegal, but conflating the two is still sloppy thinking.
I've got a better way of "getting my money". I don't give it to unscrupulous retailers who rely on rebates to provide good prices.

Do you have a counterexample?
Astonishingly, your post hasn't been moderated at all. It's almost like...nobody cares.
Uh, maybe because you don't have old hardware lying around? Or because you want a Mac?
You might be shocked to note that not everybody has the same predilections as you do. Get used to this idea...you will see it again.
So, um, unsubscribe?
Call me crazy.

At gun point? Forced?

Anyhow. Both options are available, and YMMV.
If you don't like it, sell the stock. If you continue to hold it, you are tacitly approving of Ellison's deceitful actions.
Yeah, because no phone company would ever break those for decades with total impunity, would they?
"Do you really think if Microsoft COULD do it, they wouldn't."
Uh, yeah? Why would they?
I'd have a little more sympathy had RIM not (successfully) sued Handspring over the notion of a thumb keyboard.
RIM have been hoist by their own petards.
Why would you use an encyclopedia for real research? Are you in third grade?
Which one? The one where they say "Would you like to buy the extended warranty?" and I say "No, thank you." and they say "All right then! Your total is $XXX.XX." and I walk out with a new toy?
Way insipid.
Heh. Mine was below 135000. n00b.
"Not at all, but I am interested in making sure they have an accurate impression of the world, and of how sober women normally like to be treated."
Uh, so you let them watch TV, why exactly? One of us is very confused.

A couple of inadequately trained reservists doing crowd control is not comparable to sustaining a civil war.
Want good corporate governance? Apportion jail time for criminal actions as proportional to stock holdings.
That'll solve this problem Right Freakin' Now.

Glad to hear that. What ARE you saying?
