Uh huh. A USB-PS/2 adaptor will cost you about eight bucks, and the Windows key works just great in place of the Command key.

I'm sure people could make up all kinds of reasons not to buy a mini. I mean, it would probably give you cancer if you ate it. That's probably a good reason not to buy one.

Want to buy a $200 computer? Knock yourself out. Stop whining about how 'expensive' the mini is. Hell, Steve could bring one to your house and offer you a blowjob, and it still wouldn't be cool enough for you...

It would have probably taken 10 minutes to ask, if she had somebody who (unlike you) wouldn't assume that she's stupid because she doesn't know how to work Excel. If she had enough baseline knowledge to even put together a coherent question (I find that, with people and with computers, that is most often the most difficult task).

There are lots of people in the world. I'm smarter than a lot of them. However, I wouldn't be a very successful person if I went around calling them "stupid" because they don't know the things I know.

I think you've got a lot to learn, but (just at a guess) I think you're too "stupid" to figure out how to start asking the right questions about how to deal with other people.

If the playing field is so level, why are there only two parties on it?

The FEC exists for one reason only: To preserve the dominance of the Republican and Democratic parties. They might pretend to be all different on certain issues, but on one issue I guarantee they will bend their every effort to maintain the status quo. They WILL continue their dominance, by any means necessary.

And that, my friends, is why politics in America sucks so bad.

Other people may or may not do that, but it's not the Law's place to protect their fickle preconceptions.

I think that the better way to attack it would be to require any political party (or party support mechanism) to have completely open financial records. Right now, the parties have tremendous power and very little accountability to We the People. That needs to change.

No, EVERYBODY has to adapt or die. Not just musicians. Music companies. Me. You. Everyone must adapt to the world around you.

And, I happen to think that getting stuck in a record deal is a lot like dying, so my comment works on a couple levels.

Non-geek musicians have a tremendous opportunity now. Geeky non-musicians (and geeky musicians) are creating a whole new way of producing, promoting, and distributing music. They have a chance to not get raped by a music company, if they take the time to try to figure out how this stuff works (in broad strokes anyhow).

If you're totally focused on the music, you're going to get ass-raped by a record company. If you only care about the music, then maybe, MAYBE, the record company will give you enough to keep making your music. You won't be able to make it your way.

  25. Re:Music Costs on Indie Artists Support Peer To Peer · · Score: 1

I'm not condemning anybody to do anything. I'm saying that if you want to undertake a commercial venture (like selling music recordings) you can either 1) learn how to do it yourself or 2) pay somebody else to do it. I'm not making any judgements whatsoever about what any given individual is going to find advantageous or desireable.

    What are you advocating, exactly?

I know that building an acoustic room is not cheap. I know people (musicians) who didn't want to pay a record company to do their stuff, so they learned how to build their own record company.

Ever heard of DIY? It's got a bit of history in the music world...
