So a Mozilla-based browser developed by Google would be bad for Mozilla...how exactly?
I don't understand.
I was using Camino, but now I'm back on Safari. It's faster and cleaner, and I haven't found any problems with rendering. I went back to Safari because Camino's plugin architecture, well, doesn't exist.
Firefox is dog slow on my Powerbook. It's also plug ugly IMO. So I'm back on Safari.
So low-power FM is OK only if it's not bid on by fucking religious groups, huh?
Is there, like, some sort of list I can consult of things that also shouldn't be allowed?
I agree that the FCC is selling out to The Man. But, with LPFM, what is wrong with having religious programming, particularly if that's the only stuff that people want to put on the air?
See, there's where I disagree. At least, there SHOULDN'T be a difference.
Want to come to the US to work? Great. Here's a photo ID and a tax ID number. Welcome to America.
I'm sick of the vultures that profiteer from the sweat of others, and I'm sick of the politicians who can't get their act together to make it equitable and safe to work here. It's ridiculous.
Where are you seeing these "excellent" sound systems?
The good sound gear from Klipsch and the like for computers costs about $300, and it's not anywhere near as good-sounding as the Klipsch home gear (which is indeed more expensive).
Fortunately, I'm not an audiophile, so I don't spend $300 on my computer speakers. : )
You are responsible for driving your car safely. You are responsible to be comfortable with ABS. You are responsible for knowing where the gear shift and window washers are. Foisting your difficulties off on the manufacturer is disingenuous.
It's true: I was at fault in the accident with the two door Saturn. I was following a gi-normous pickup truck like yours, and driving into the sun. I didn't see the brake lights when the driver stopped suddenly (although I was following at a safe distance) because the sun was in my eyes.
Was the accident my fault? Absolutely. But the damage to that car would have been trivial had the pickup truck driver been required to follow bumper safety laws like passenger cars, and not have a huge trailer hitch sticking out of his car eight inches above the Saturn's bumper.
My fault? Yes. My responsibility? Yes. Exacerbated by somebody else's disregard for safe driving? Yes.
That's absolutely true. Takeoff and landing are the most dangerous parts of air travel. However, the problem is still a manageable one.
Mostly by making the system automated. FAA is working on totally hands-off flying cars, just as I've advocated for roadgoing cars in other parts of this thread.
My point is that you have purchased a large vehicle that you don't feel comfortable driving. The problem is NOT WITH ABS. The problem is with you failing to operate your vehicle correctly.
The fact that SS/Medicare doesn't cost the taxpayer as much as it does in Sweden makes it distinguishable from that system. Does it have socialist aspects? Sure. Is it a truly socialized medical system? I certainly think not.
And, of course, the Nobel Prize for Medicine only goes to Swedish people. Right.
I know that America's (extremely corrupt and unreasonably profiteering) corporations develop the lion's share of new techniques and treatments.
Are there problems that need addressing? Absolutely. Is a 57% tax bracket part of the solution? Not if you ask me.
I love my clickwheel, but I don't think it would be any less susceptible to your problem.
I really would like to see a hack/control panel to tune the response of the scroll wheel. That'd be nice, particularly for the rating screen (which is the only place I really have a problem with precision).
You have put your finger right on (huh huh) my only issue with my 4G iPod.
I'd say 1/4 rotation per star, but regardless: It's FAR too sensitive right now. Scrolling through text lists is a breeze, but the stars are hypersensitive.
Some people like living in large cities. Frankly, I've never done it before, and I'm rather enjoying it.
I couldn't imagine living in a small town, but hey: I don't have to. It works for you, and I think that's great.

Maybe you should have got some people who know how to spell "ghetto" before posting.
Well, duh. For any developer, NO computer "just works". As a matter of fact, for the overwhelming majority of developers, it NEVER works, period.
I don't know what you're trying to argue. Programming is difficult.
Having said that, people who are familiar with Apple's dev tools seem to like them an awful lot.

That's the thing about people I agree with. They tend to be right.
Mars will do just fine, thank you.
That's what I mean: The subsidy needs to stop.
It wasn't a ripoff of Star Wars, any more than Star Wars is a ripoff of every mythic story that came before it. That's silly.
See, there's where I disagree. At least, there SHOULDN'T be a difference.

musicmobs.com is what you are looking for.
I was with you until your last statement.

You are missing my point entirely.

Any other questions?
Define "better quality".
You don't happen to have a Trinitron monitor, do you?
Because I wouldn't want to ruin it.

Flaws? Really? I suppose, but I shopped these things pretty hard, and the iPod is far superior to the competition for my purposes.
I wouldn't mind more battery life, but everything else about it is pretty well perfect IMO.
You need a UID at least an order of magnitude smaller than the one you've got.
Preferably two orders of magnitude.
Thanks for playing, though...
If you'd actually read that article, you'd know that Jobs was personally riding herd on that design team.
No, it was not at Apple. Apple's getting rid of not-invented-here-itis is a huge huge huge part of their recent success.
Jobs' design requirements are the huger part.
Thy wish is granted. At least on my Powerbook.
There's a setting in the control panel to disable the touch pad when there's a mouse attached. w00t.
I don't use it, since I like to use the hot corners of the touchpad for Exposè.

I've got a shiny nickel that says that split happened after the widespread deployment of tone dialing.
