"This is Marc Jacobs of EA, We will add your biological and technological distinctiveness to our own. Your culture will adapt to service us. Resistance is futile. We are EA."
Both are good systems. I personally like the PSP device better, but the game selection is HORRIBLE on PSP right now. Nothing buy driving and sports games. WAY TO MANY DRIVING GAMES! Daxter and Hotshots Golf has been it's only saving grace for me.
I bought a DS a month ago just so I could experience something other then driving & sports games. Nintendo seems to have a better seletion of adventure and scroller/puzzle(mario type) games. Lately I play the DS more then the PSP, just because I have a larger selection of games (especially when you include GBA games).
Personally I think the success of PS/2 and XBOX over Nintendo is not beause of realistic graphics but because the theme's are more edgey. Nintendo games tend to go a cartoony, more sunny happy route, while PS/2 XBOX games tend to go a darker, more violent route.
For teens and college kids, it's just not "cool" to be playing cartoony mario games while all your friends are killing hookers in Grand Theft Auto.
DRM exists because the RIAA wants it there. Apple is contractually bound to sell thier music with DRM on it. They can't just remove it at thier own discresion.
Go protest the RIAA membership companies, oh wait then you'd have to deal with the real problem. Nevermind.
When netcraft numbers favor Apache/open source, the streamers fly and there's nothing but back patting on how this proves {insert open source alternative here} is a better product.
But soon as MS gets some positive numbers. "OH THOSE ARE ALL INFLATED NUMBERS THAT MEAN NOTHING!"
Guys pick a standard to hold things too and stick to it.
Personally I don't care who's on top, long as what I use works for me.
Ummm no, Windows 2003 just has to be up 20% more then Redhat linux. So if Redhat is up for 1 hour, then Windows 2003 only has to be up for an extra 12 minutes to have an uptime 20% greater then Linux.
Satalite radio is not gaining popularity because it's digital, no one really cares that it's digital. The sound quality is the same as a strong FM signal.
What they care about is that: 1. Music is commercial free 2. The content is very well grouped and partitioned by genre and not TOP 40. 3. The audio is uncensored.
The end quote was such a load, "Who will be the HD radio Howard Stern?", no one thats who. Because HD Radio is the same station broadcast on the same frequency, only digitally. Who cares. This is BS hype over a technology that is not really important to anyone. No one is clamering for better sounding radio.
Imagine a car where the brake and gas pedals are reversed, the shifter is 3 turn dials, and everytime you want to put in a new radio or radar detector you have to rebuild the engine.
I love all the damage control the fanboi's throw out there.
OH THIS ISN'T A BIG DEAL OH THIS ISN'T A LINUX PROBLEM SPECIFICALLY OH IT'S ONLY ON THE 3RD SUNDAY OF THE 5TH MONTH OH IF THIS WERE WINDOZ (INSERT NOT FUNNY JOKE HERE)
Come on guys, admit you got stung and deal with it. The more popular Linux becomes the more hackers will want to get into it. And since all the source for just about everything is out there, it's alot easier for the smart ones to find, test, & exploit vulnerablities.
Your no more secure then the rest of us, you just weren't on the radar. Now you are. Expect more to come.
There are millions of people everyday that take buses, subways, and airplanes(WOW!), that have alot of free time on thier hands. Up to an hour for work commuters, up to 8 hours for air commuters. All of these places give you a very small space to sit in and "relax".
So now not only can I listen to music on my ride, but with no extra effort or accessories I can watch last nights LOST that I missed or my favorite Star Trek episodes.
It's not for people sitting at home, it for people who travel and do not do the driving.
I personally think it's a great idea, and have been chomping at the bit for apple to do this for over a year.
6% is not a good amount. And maybe you've been missing all the Firefox buzz lately, but it seems to have capped once people found out it's only security was it's obscurity.
Come on, they've been calling it an MS Office killer since it's release. It's not going to kill MS Office, especially when it's ability to read office doucments.
You guys need to understand, "open standards" mean squat to the users, they are only important to the techie types. Most people are NOT looking for an alternative to MS Office and aren't not going to be swayed with out something really amazing
You sir are a Class A moron, who has no idea what he's talking about.
Binary compatibility is EXTREMELY important to Linux if you want acceptance on the same level as Windows or OSX.
If you make any really drastic changes -- the standard C library for instance -- you might well have to recompile some applications. Is that a major hardship? I don't think so.
This laughable. That I even have to compile an app is laughable.
End users do not want to compile and application. They do not want to debug it, figure out what version of a library is running, download nessesary components from 3rd party websites, or even think about the OS. No one has time for that.
They want to slide in the CD and click install. Answer as few YES/NO questions as possible, and start using the application. Thats it. Everything else is a road block to getting a the original task done.
I swear many/.ers don't acctually do any work, they just theorize on what work would be like if they could do it after they get thier distro installed.
Because Microsoft Office's formats are the defacto standards, and Microsoft have made no effort to support OO.o's format (despite open standards and even a reference implementation, although the latter would be of limited use to them). It's not really fair, but that's just the way it is - in order for an Office Suite to be of use, it must unfortunately be compatible with Microsoft's (closed) formats.
Who ever said life was fair?
You zealots need to get off your open-source high horse and seriesly look at your products from a user standpoint. 90% of opensource projects have terrible UIs, terrible documentation, and terrible end-user(non-technical people) support.
Blurting out BS answers like "Well you should have compiled with -Xe7 -E3 -Y you moron! RTFM!" only furthurer distance yourselves from wide spread acceptance.
Open-source products need to work, with out special farting around, throw in the CD and click install. Then click the icon to make it start up and run. Thats it. MS products do that 95% of the time, OS projects do it maybe 30% of the time.
But our concern is that file-sharers' expenditure on music overall is down, a fact borne out by study after study.
This is probably due to many CDs on iTunes costing $9.99, where a CD in the store is costing $16.99.
Also buyers are able to be more selective about thier purchases, since I may only want 1 or 2 songs from an album instead of the whole album.
Electronic Arts is the Borg of our time.

Blizzard settled out of court. So there is no legal president set.
You can't goto a judge and say well in Blizzard vs. Knopp they settled so it's an open and shut case your honor.

linux fanboi: These are not the updates your looking for...
slashdotter: these are not the updates we're looking for
do, those that can't enter themselves into contests for faux kudo's on imaginary projects.
I can promise you that no american ever uses the term Singaporian-American.
Come on I know you wanna speak. Blame this on corporate greed or better yet tie it in with global warming so you get more bang for your buck.

maybe by making it beta they circumvent the anti-trust issues?
Look how long ms anti spyware has been in beta.

Unless I'm in 1st class(rare) I can't use my laptop because the screen wacks the back of the seat in front of me.

Oh that is such bull.
Using Linux doesn't not automatically make you born again. All ethically and morally clensed.
Make them clean WintoolsA!

I stoppped buying CDs in the store because the music coming out right now sux.
I don't like Nick Lache, Jessica Simpson, J Lo, or Little Jon. So sorry if I'm not gobbling up the crap your dropping.
Produce something worth listening to and I will pay you.
