  1. It's a luxury on Governing the Internet Report Released · · Score: 3, Interesting

    16. Interconnection costs Uneven distribution of cost. Internet service providers (ISPs) based in countries remote from Internet backbones, particularly in the developing countries, must pay the full cost of the international circuits.
    05.41622 -6-
Absence of an appropriate and effective global Internet governance mechanism to resolve the issue.

When did the internet become a NESSESITY of life???
Why must thier be a "even" distribution of costs?? If it costs more to get connectivity to your isp then it costs more for that isp to do buisness.

  2. Maybe they found something up there?? on NASA Announces De-Orbit Mission For Hubble · · Score: 1

Ever think that maybe they found something up there that maybe they are not telling us about?

I'm not talking about little people running around per say. But maybe something else.
Artifacts or maybe rich mineral deposits.

Maybe thats why there is a big push to get people to mars.

Blizzard DOES care. I get a response from a GM within 2 mins.
Probably because your in the beta. duh.

I will bet good money both EQ2 and WoW have plenty of issues the first couple weeks they are open.

Sony has a huge advantage over WoW though that they have real experience running 3 high population MMO games. So while there will be issues, they have the background to address them quickly.

WoW is Blizzards first foray into MMO games and I anticipate they will hit the same issues that everyone except Mythic has hit(except with ToA).

  5. The real interesting news will come in 3 months on Dept. of Homeland Security Says to Stop Using IE · · Score: 1

Mozilla security hole gives hackers access to all your files! News at 11!
Of course we won't read about it here. As soon as one of the other browsers has a large user base, they will become just as insecure as IE.

  6. Raise the price and lose a customer on Record Labels Push for iTunes Price Hike · · Score: 1

I only buy from iTunes because the price is reasonable. Considering the amount of restriction thats put on these purchases.

    * I have to own an Branded Itunes player
    * I can only play my songs on 3 devices
    * I can only burn it 7 times(yea that seems alot but when you have kids, you need a new one every 30 days)!

Sure I can circumvent these restrictions if I'm clever, but not everyone is.

My message to Apple and the RIAA: Jack up the price and we'll all go back to the P2P flavor of the month club and pay zero. Leave the price at 99 cents and you'll get some money out of me. If ain't enough to buy that new 150 foot yacht, well your just gonna have to tighten the belt at home.

  7. So who couldn't predict this 3 or 4 years ago? on Sony Connect Online Music Download Store Launches · · Score: 1

Various rights owners coming out with their own special standards that promote sales of thier special units.

Fortunately there are plenty of smart fellas out there that know how to crack the files, so after I "buy" them I can acctually listen to them on my MP3 player. :o)

  8. Blame it on bad quality on 2003 CD Sales Officially Down 7.6 Percent · · Score: 1

From what I'm seeing there's lots of crappy music coming out that is targeted at teens & pre-teens with no buying power. The trouble is that unlike the old days when parents would buy it for thier little boy or girl, this music is so profane/harsh/pornographic that they say no. The result is low sales.

The other half of it is a lack of some good new sounds. Instead it's alot of rehash of that sucky Justin Timberlake/Nick Lachea/Brittney crap they churn out by the butt load.

There are a number of VERY authentic eBay and PayPal emails going around. Complete with authentic looking webpages they link to.

The latest paypal one also contains LOTS of real links to paypal's website, except for the one that counts which asks you to "confirm" your information.
