While the OT is largely disregarded by modern christians, the NT still makes several declerations regarding homosexuality. Mathew 18, 19, Acts 10 and Romans 1 all make it pretty clear that the christian god hates homosexuality.

Of course its debatable weather or not these are all condemations of homosexuality or are in some case anti-pederasty. It doesnt matter. As there are numerous declerations in the NT condeming homosexuality, Any homosexual that considers themself a christian is seriously confused.

Of course its my perspective that pretty much all christians are pretty friggin confused to begin with, so who cares. As long as they profess a belief in something which has zero affirmative evidence they will all seem crazy to me.

With regards to majority support for the war, yes the democrats did support it. Based on the intel that was manufactured and contorted by the CIA and State Department at the direction of the Bush administration. Even if the democrats could see through the BS, Bush had the country wopped up into such a state (Saddam supports terrorism, WMDs, Etc) that no one could decent without loosing all sorts of political support.

W/r/t war for Oil, you miss the point. Bush fought a war for oil, but not on behalf of the consumer. The war drove up oil prices, leading to higher profits for his friends in oil. Oil is now dominated by the U.S. oil industry who is of course great friends of Bush. They have more oil, and higher prices. So yeah, it was a war for oil, paid with American blood, on behalf of the oil industry, to everyone elses detriment.

If I go to a movie theatre, I am not paying for the media, from my perspective I am paying for the experience of watching something on a really really big screen.

My point is that I attach no value to the actual media; and I think the reason for that is that so much of what is produce is utter crap; it has no value.

In fact given the problems in our society that are directly associated with an irresponsible media (witness last tuesday) I dont feel bad if I cause the companies behind these products to loose money. In fact, given their behavior I think it is an imperative that as concerned citizens we cause these bastards to loose as much money as possible. They call it stealing, I call it civil disobedience.

They probably are missing its increased utility, in swapping amongst friends. Whenever I am at a friends house, I rip all of their cds to mp3s, and most of the people I know do the same. This kind of use with the increasing prevelance of iPods and other players is definitely on the rise.

The whole point of the second world war was to remove possible competition from Anglo-Saxon hegemony over the British Empire.

This theory nicely fits into marxist dogma, but really doesnt hold water. You could argue that the Germans started WWII in order to replace British-U.S. hegemony with their own, but to say that the Allies fought the war to remove competition is utterly absurd. Germany wasnt attacking British or French colonies, they were attacking Britain and France, trying to conquer them. The point of the war from the Allies perspective was purely self defense. The only other alternative was submission.

That it was purely a matter of self defense is further vindicated by France and Englands repeated efferts at appeasement in order to avoid wat.

No, waiting until 1942 to attack was certainly construed as diabolique by the paranoid Russians, however it took that long to build up the necesary resources. In 1940 the U.S. military was about half a million strong, how the hell is that supposed to turn into a second front overnight? That it only took two years is a testament to how quickly the Americans moved and how much they were trying to honor their committments to the russians.
